Is there a name for old coins which have had one side completely engraved with initials or designs? I have several here, one is made into a pin, another just beautifully engraved with a complex monogram on one side. They are definately Victorian Canadian coins...but the dates were on the sides which have been engraved...guessing c.1880-1890. Not sure how to categorize these, as I'm sure they have no value at all as coins since they are defaced. They're silver, by the way.
