12" singles, club/dance music. All the specialty dance records are going for insane prices. Stuff I picked up for $10.99 back in 1994 is selling for $50+ Amazing... I'm sitting on a gold mine, but I love my records. I'm never selling 'em.

Records are a tough proposition. I've sold a few for good prices on ebay, but not very many.
Unless they are in excellent to near mint condition (including the album covers), you'd be better off not wasting your time. Collectors won't usually spend money on a record that has much wear at all. An exception might be a super rarity or highly collectible record. They will probably sell OK even in a worn state.
I don't mean to be a downer. This has just been my experience. Good luck.

Another problem with selling records on ebay is that this is a field where collectors really, really need to see the item themselves in order to determine the condition. You may have a valuable record, but it might bring less value because sellers may be too cautious about the condition to put out serious money - many record collectors have already been stung by overly optimistic record grading on ebay.
One thing that will help is if you get a reputation (through feedback) of being a good judge of the record's condition. What you might want to do is setup a seperate ebay account just to sell the records. Learn how to objectively grade them, then drop the grade a notch because sellers tend to see a C8 record and the buyers tend to see a C7 record. After you build up a decent feedback as a record seller, then sellers might become less cautious and bid higher.
As for myself, I tend to stay away from records unless the record has some "crossover" appeal to another group of collectors. Most of my records aren't bought by record collectors per se, but by people who collect something else cartoon characters, celebrities, political, etc).

I think records sell pretty well...I ship about 100 or so every few weeks. I sell everything from Sinatra to the Sex Pistols, but Spoken Word and Heavy Metal are doing pretty well recently.
Holiday music sells well all year, and I am alway surprised how well Burl Ives does...
If you are looking for big money for each Lp,don't bother. But if you are like me and spend no more than .50 cents an Lp, you can do well. I just take a picture of the cover and describe the condition (record in great shape, but does have a few surface scratches..Plays well but has a pop here and there...Lp is not playable, but look at that artwork...)
Just be sure to play it if there is any doubt! (sometimes Lps look perfect, but will still have a pop or hiss) Be VERY sure that Pink Floyd and Classical Lp's are PERFECT. Play them to be sure.
I once bought a factory sealed MFSL DSOTM at a record store, brought it home and played it...There was a pop in the middle of Great Gig In The Sky! I returned it that day!
There is nothing more distracting than a pop in the middle of Dark Side of the Moon!

DSOTM is a great album, my favorite record by far. If you can find a copy with the original stickers, save it or SEND IT TO ME!

Any good box supply or packaging store will have LP mailers. The shipper looks like a fat cross before you fold them in.

Independent Hardcore/punk/metal records sell pretty well, like mostly 7"'s (what used to be known as 45's), but I mean like stuff that's 5 years old with runs of 500 to 5000, maybe colored vinyl, maybe hand #'d, by pretty popular underground bands.
I am selling (under a pers acct) a few 7"s by really indie bands, and I'm going $4.99/$5.99 on them, I think they are worth it.
I have bought Cactus LP's (70's) and a Dexy's Midnight Runners LP (80s) for less than $10, though.
Are you able to find or buy a record price guide? I know everyone says they hate guides, but you should have something to go by.

I have had a little luck with jazz, but have to echo that I just paid .50 or so for each one and was happy to see them hit $20.
The few I sold I couldn't play (no player) so I made sure to mention that and the buyers seemed happy.
