I have a very, very rare (I know, I know, but in this case, it's true!) Mickey Mouse doll. It was made by (don't laugh) The Franklin Mint in the late 80s. It's rare because production was stopped on it due to a manufacturing problem (crazing in the porcelain feet) but also because Disney hadn't licensed it.
Almost all FM customers who bought it returned it for a replacement due to the crazing, but FM never replaced the dolls due to Disney pulling the plug. With few exceptions (like mine ), the returns were destroyed.
I would guess there are only, at most, about one hundred left in the world, mostly owned by previous employees who bought them at the annual "clean out the warehouse" sale.
The doll is about a foot high, with porcelain head, hands and feet and a cloth body with satin shorts. It has a display stand and is in the original packaging.
What do you Mickey people think? Never sold any dolls, or Mickey or Disney before, so I'm not sure the best place to list this -- Disney or dolls or where? Also, what opening price would you suggest?

rarebourbon,
You know I was thinking about this and wondered if you would do signifigantly better waiting to sell it just before Christmas when sales will peak. Just an idea. I know somtimes finances make us sell things before the best time arrives, but you might do a lot better with it if you hold off.
We have a friend who had an original mad hatter marionette (might be spelled wrong) puppet. It was his dads and it had the original box and everything. He was in a hurry to sell it and it ended at just $50. I think if he had waited he could have made 3X that, but he needed the money. At the time I wished I could have bid on it/bought it, but lacked the funds myself.
