Lately, whenever I try to relist an auction it seems like most of the time it either tells me that it's refused because I'm using "Javascript" or "Page Not Available" or sometimes it just gives me a blank page and sits there! Doesn't seem to matter if I'm pulling up an auction over 30 days old, or one I just listed a couple of weeks ago. Anyone else having these problems? Any suggestions?

Actually my computer was crashing constantly when I tried to re-list. I got fed-up and went out and bought a new computer - which is faster, ect and now I no longer have any problems. I think eBay has updated their software and some of the older computers aren't able to keep up with it. I have a friend having the same problems.

1. Clear your cache

2. If you are using IE, try using Netscape instead.

3. If you must use IE, make sure you have the latest upgrade.

You have asked the question I wanted to know the ans. to:
I have tried everything to relist and I have had very little luck, what I have found to do is refresh the page, over and over until it is ready for the next page But this is time consuming.
I have used Internet Explorer.........and had the same problem relisting.
I even signed up with Andale and paid 15 cents for each listing to relist...and Ebay would refund the 15cents if it sold. But now when I go to Andale, its
not the same either,
I get so frustrated that I just make it into a new listing, because the time wasted
is not worth the 15 cents to me anymore.

Also If I have to correct something in my listing, I can't do it either, I never had this problem before.
My computer is only 2 yrs. old, Maybe it is too old for all the new changes taking place on the internet.?

Is vrane a site that charges for the service, or is it free?

FYI - there is a Javascript error that is causing problems with Netscape. [not sure how it affects IE?] The code slingers are aware of the problem [I reported it 8 weeks ago] and the dummies still haven't got it figured out.
The problem involves some bad IPIX code.
So far 2 errors have been fixed, and one still remains. The only way I can re-list, or list via the ebay site is with Javascript disabled on my browser.

The best workaround is using Mr.Lister.

As of late last week, here's the JS error that was coming up for me.

Javascript error:

http://ebay.sj.ipixmedia.com/include/rsapi.js?pa=everest&form=false, line 273

PWICO is not defined

It's not free - but the charge is nominal. I had problems relisting and have actually saved $ with it.

It's been a couple of days since I posted this question, and the frustration still remains. In the meantime, I keep wondering about what you said Eventer--"Clear your cache." What cache do you mean?

> Clear your cache." What cache do you mean?

Cache in this case, is referring to the Temporary Internet Files that Internet Explorer stores locally. This is always used before fetching it from the web. If the local version is corrupt, then this will cause problems. To delete the cache, go to Tools : Internet Options : Delete Files in Internet Explorer.

Many sellers report that Netscape or Opera can be used to relist auctions. Internet Explorer has difficulty displaying pages when you try to re-list.

Do you have one of those PayPal smart logos in (or added to) your auctions?

I've been getting the Javascript error too, and it goes away as soon as I remove the PayPal logo code.

actually, the temp files is not the cache. Go to C drive then windows folder then the occache folder. then either remove them all, or if you're online you can just right click and click update. On some systems this folder is called downloaded program files.

the temp files are cookies. but if you just clear the temp files, the cookies will still be on your harddrive in another folder. just clearing the temp files won't do it. You need to go to the C drive, windows folder, open the cookies folder (do this while you're offline) select all by doing edit select all or Ctrl A, and hit delete. For some, these cookies then go to the recycle bin, so be sure to empty the recycle bin too. These cookies on the harddrive is how .coms track you online, not the temp files.

actually it is.

The rest of your post about cookies is true, but deleting does not change your ability to re-list on eBay. If anything, it will make logging into sites you frequent more difficult.

Sun818: I followed your instructions and cleared my cache. Although it made plenty of computer noises when it did it, and took quite a while (I've never done this and the computer is 5 years old!) it didn't help me to relist. However, I'm sure my computer feels better, and it will help in other ways.
<p> Vargis: Your suggestion worked! I went back to the auction--tried to click on the PayPal logo and delete it, but it wouldn't let me. I then went up to my description and scrolled down until the computer language said something about PayPal logo. I then deleted everything from then on down. Voila! When I went to relist, it went through without a problem.
<p> Thanks for everyone's help!

Hi,

I personally think it's Windows 98.

I have two computers, one is a newer desktop with 128 ram. When trying to relist from that computer, I frequently get the 'page can't be displayed' error.

My other is an older Toshiba Satellite 110cs laptop with 32 megs of ram running Windows 95. I relist from this one almost as much as from the desktop but have NEVER gotten the same error.

I had this problem a few weeks ago and went round and round with eBay. Finally copied Meg on an email to support and got a call from a real live person! He gave me two solutions.
1. When re-listing go into your description and remove any information that you did not input. There’s a lot of junk there among which you will find the payment option stuff. Just trash it. Most of the time this will take care of the problem.

2. Try using another brouser. If you have been using IE go to Netscape and try to relist. So far it has worked every time for me.

Glad this came thread came up again.
I tried relisting through ebay yesterday, and all was well until thecategory section. after clicking to continue, I then repeatedly got an error message which referred to a parameter(s) being unacceptable.
It then occured to me that I was re-listing an item whose sub-category has most likely been dumped (thanks to ebay's latest fine-tuning fiasco).

I've alaways re-listed through ebay rather than AW, as they let one change more fields; but had to this time try AW and it's hoop-jumping don't-mess-with-anything re-launch tedium....and it worked OK.

I have Windows '98, and IE.5.0, no Netscape, never any problem before, so I did suspect the category-change. After reading these discouraging posts about needing to upgrade or manually disable logos, I'll investigate further.

Within a short space of time, (especially compared to last summer when most of the dissatisfaction was with inevitable Summer-Slump,)the whole procedure to get just the slightest thing done seems to have become so relentlessly gruelling...sad.
