Greetings all,
Over the past 30+ years my grandmother had amassed a collection of what we called her "old people". To make a long story short, I have now got them all in my garage in two big boxes. I have taken one particularly sentimental one to keep for memories but not sure what to do with the remaining 40+ of them.
They do not have any brand, for the most part, and the eBay categories appear to be flooded with these things selling for less than $5.00. This is obviously not my area of expertise, and if I am not going to make any serious money to pass on to granny, I'd rather not mess with it.
My real question is, can anyone think of something useful to do with all these figurines? Seems a shame to throw them out or give to the goodwill where they will just get chipped and messed up.
Here is what they look like but not necessarily this exact brand/line (thanx to a particular seller of these on eBay)

Perhaps take a few of them to a local antiques & collectibles shop and ask them if they have a market for them. Maybe even a dealer at a flea market? Sometimes things that don't sell on ebay will do okay in a local area.
If your grandmother liked them maybe there is another granny that collects them? Even an ad in your local paper may surprise you. Someone may buy them hoping to sell them on ebay.

They are beautiful (love their faces!). Just a thought that maybe before consigning them, you might want to do one auction for the whole collection, and use a reserve. Figure with a $3.30 max listing fee and a one dollar reserve fee, the most you'll spend is $4.30 to see if anyone on eBay loves these as much as your grandmother did.

I think they're cool! If you put the whole lot up, I'd bid on them! I would think other's would, too. It's an instant collection for the curio cabinet without taking 30 years to collect.
Does Gramma happen to remember where she got any of them, or what they're called?
