Can anyone report their sales results on Grab a Bargain (perhaps compared to sales on half.com)? I am particularly interested in book sales, but would appreciate comments on any type.

Thank you.

We opened our account the the last thread started. (2 weeks ago?) We made 1 sale the next day & nothing since.

I haven't tried GAB but these days half.com is as dead as Bidville for me. I am also listing the same books on Amazon and they are selling well, so I broke down and got a Merchant Pro account.

If the next month still shows half.com sales to be low to non-existant, I plan to stop using the site because it's a waste of my time to have to keep removing listings from half.com when the books sell on Amazon.

I don't know about GAB, but I listed my first group of books on Half.com, all starting at the "average" price for each book that I was selling. That was a couple of weeks ago, and I haven't had a single sale... Is this normal? Are my prices too high? Or is it just the summertime slow down?

I'm doing fine on half--my best period so far and it's not even over. I won't list a book if the lowballer's price is below my expectations. People on half are bargain hunting, but I can often do better than eBay. If the book is relatively new, the prices can be good. Chances are that people will go with something priced at the low end so an average price puts you on the waitng end of the food chain.

I don't think the other site has the draw of half, and probably won't until they start doing those annoying pop ups

Why list on a site that simply competes on lowest price? In the long term, your business will be commoditized and profits very slim or non existant.

On ebay, the buyers jump all over each other and drive the prices up. On Half, sellers jump over each other to drive the price down. Buyers should be buying on Half, Sellers should be selling on ebay.

Half.com is slow for me too. But so is ebaY and most internet buying activity.

It is summer and things on line won't get humming again for a while. But I sure hope the tax refund will give us a little bump up!
