Hi all--I bought at auction a big gorgeous book printed in 1977, Panorama Artistico Colombiano, by Gloria Pena de Jaramillo. It is beautiful, has a couple hundred pages of full-page color prints from Latin America. Even a dust jacket, although worn. It's a limited edition, #860 of 2,000.
I've searched at book sites and found only one copy (no DJ mentioned) for $250.
I'd like to auction it on ebay but am stumped as to the categories to list it in.
I looked at Art: Fine: Prints, but there are thousands and I'm afraid the book would be lost. I looked at Art: Books: Latin American, as well as Art: Ethnographic: Latin American. Any other thoughts?
Forgot to add: Each art print is covered in an attractive brown paper overleaf.
I'm not greedy but would like a good chunk for this book, which is just wonderfully done.

You could always list in 2 categories, and do some category switching midway through the auctions to get maximum exposure.

Since you expect to get a good chunk of cash for the book, you might want to consider the "Featured" listing...It's pricey but worth it...especially in a category with lots of listings.

Cagrrl: I didn't know I could switch categories in the middle of an auction! Have you done this? Is there any penalty? Do you pay for the additional listings? It's an interesting idea.
The suggestion to list it in the featured listings is a good one, too. I've never used that but now I think I have something that could indeed benefit.
Now, are there any other obvious categories I'm overlooking?

roadsmith - there is no penalty or extra fee to change a category while your auction is running.
But I have seen some auctions in which the seller stated something like, "Please bookmark this auction if you are interested, as I may move it to another category before the auction ends". This will enable someone to find it again, and also could encourage someone to go ahead and place a bid to make SURE they can find it.
I would definitely put it in the Art:Fine:Prints category, plus one of the Latin American categories.
