Have been gone since 3/5...yeah, missed the very last week of free Auction Watch. Oh, well.
So who of my old wise, warm and witty buddies are still hangin' 'round? Just read a delightful post by dear, dear Loosecannon - to which 'oltimers' like Jerry12, Sliver, Twinsoft, Eventer, Mballai and others had posted. Sure was good to see all those familiar names. (BTW, LC - before any of us comment any further, we should ask if this seller actually knows you....not your ex-wife by any chance?)
Being away for a period of time leaves a big gap in one's life, and lots of unanswered questions....like: Did HCQ ever come back?...did Packer really leave (sob!)?....and for God's sake, did Peppermint ever get her skates?!!!!
Who's still friends, and who has fallen out?
Has eBay imposed any new rules or regulations that I should be aware of?...ditto, AW? Has eBay done anything in the last 5-6 months that made more sense than their usual actions? Is Mark still a good guy (in spite of charging us poor helpless users)?
I'm starved for info and will accept anything...news, fact, gossip - doesn't matter - even a reprimand from a moderator would be welcome word right now.
I'm sorry to hear about the family tragedy & hope that your return signals the start of better times.
Lots of the "old" regulars still around. A few have changed their AW ID..got to be quite the rage for a while.
Let's see..what's new.
New links policy on ebay. New fees from PayPal. Whole host of new auction sites to choose from. New storefronts on ebay. Honesty got purchased & is virtually a hunk of junk these days. AuctionAssistant from Blackthorne got fully absorbed by ebay & is now SellersAssistant. ebay introduced bidder block.
New stamps program out since Stamps.com sells to be trying to self destruct. C2it has come on as another payment system. Most of the "freebie" picture hosting systems are slowly biting the dust.
But, not to despair..some of the same old stuff still abounds...we have our weekly debates over handling charges, PayPal versus Billpoint, who leaves feedback first. mrpotatoheadd is always thrilled to see those continue.
krs is holding court in the RT. Neil (reddeer) has been missing a bit lately but Bill (cdnbooks) has been holding the fort down as the defender of Canadian honor.
Have had some "lively" threads in your absence which will probably go into AW thread history, especially if you can buttonhole someone to give you the lowdown.
Trolling has slowed a bit lately but we still manage to get enough threads going to keep pattaylor awake!

Ah, Pocono...home, sweet home! Think I'll kick off my shoes and stay awhile.
Thanks for all the info, Eventer, and it's good to know that not much has changed. We're probably overdue a hot topic on shipping internationally, huh?
What's the general opinion of C2it? Or is it opening another can of worms to ask?
Links to those historical threads? Any volunteers for the lowdown?

Welcome back gc2!
Grab a cup of coffee (or a drink), kick your feet up on the desk and take a relaxing stroll through this twisted thread. Here's the button-holed lowdown.

Oops, week late..we had an international shipping thread last week.
No real manifesto's lately that I recall.
AW did change it's policy on listing talking about auctions in threads. The old policy was the thread was locked until the other party arrived or for 24 hours.
Now you can't give any identifying information about the auction even if you invite the seller.
THAT raised quite a stir for a couple of hours. I think even Twinsoft threatened to leave over that..but he was just funnin us.

HEY, gc2.....
How the heck are ya?
We have missed you!
I just popped in from the garage(my continuing effort to get organized) and seen your thread.
I'm still here. We don't hear from "pepperment" anymore but "horizonod"(the skate seller) pops in every once in awhile to stir the pot about one thing or another.
I've been on a crusade to get my house back(empty of eBay stuff) and organized into the garage. I found my living room floor after 2 years and my doggie found his long lost toy . My daughters bedroom is now void of eBay goodies...at least she had a place to sleep this week when she came for a visit from college. Its a continuing effort and the heat and humidity are a real killer.
I'm trying to gear up for a great xmas season in sales.
Withdrawals from not listing is KILLING me.
Bet I get something on by weeks end.
Its good to have you back and I hope we see a lot more of you

Hi, gc2. Thanks for the mention, I just love to see my name in print! 'Hope everything is going well now.
Actually, as far as who is new/old, I have adopted a theory that all the posts on this board are made by approximately five individuals using different IDs. (Nobody ever leaves, they just get recycled.)
And speaking of emails, Packer, please email me at [email protected]. <wink!> Thanks.
