Morning All-
I woke this morning to find my Email server is down...The cable company said they are doing an "upgrade", and they have no idea when it will be done. I have about 15 EOA's to send, but cannot.

I thought I'd check my phone messages, the phone is broken...I tried to watch some tv shows my Tivo caught for me, Tivo is down...

I think I'm going to cry.. I am afraid to even try listing new auctions, with my luck I'll break my PC...

Does anyone know of a way I can send Email without my server being involved? This is getting to be a real problem....

What a day...and it's only 9:00am my time...

yahoo or hotmail also offer free email accounts I changed my ebay contact to yahoo just for that reason yahoo also allows you to forward your email so once your server is back online you can go to yahoo ahd forward that address to your regular addresss

Of course this will probly do you no good becouse your computer should also be broken by the time I post this
spock here......

How can you give any of these sites a try if your "server is down"? As a matter of fact, how can you be here if your server is down?

Good luck

Just the Email portion of my server is down. Now I can get email, but cannot send email... still no time frame for a fix. I have no idea how this works, I just trust it to work. I can go anywhere I want on the net, but the sending part of my email is just not working...

Now I can send email to myself, but when I try sending to anyone else I get this:

"An error occured while sending mail. The server responded: Sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcphosts (#5.7.1) Please check the message recipients and try again"

What does this mean? My server can't seem to answer this question...

I am on Earthlink and the same thing happened to me. Could not send mail, although I did recieve some mail. Maybe it is the virus that was supposed to effect ISP today.

I know Unix & Gnu/Linux use a different application to process internal mail. Usually called "mail", in unix talk, Another called "sendmail" gets your message to a different server/system. Maybe this is the reason...

I hope everything is cleared up for you pretty soon.

Some domains are used strictly by spammers and your ISP may have blocked any mail going to or from those specific domains.

Your ISP may be having problems but try some different addresses at different domains as a test.

Hi kyms,

Whatta day, huh? Hopefully by the time I post this all your probs will be in the past.

Having an extra yahoo address is very helpful. My ISP is very strict about spam, so I sometimes have problems with hotmail accounts.

I've created a yahoo address very similar to the email address registered at eBay, AND when I use it, I cc myself at the email address registered at eBay (and I point that out to the recipient). I haven't had one person upset or concerned that I wasn't the real seller by doing this.

Good luck and better days!
