Just wondering if I should use hidden or graphic counters on my eBay auctions:

Do you use hit counters?

If so, do you use hidden or graphic counters?

If you use a graphic counter that the buyer can view, do you think the number of page views affects their purchasing decision?

Thanks in advance!

i usually use a graphic counter. once tried an experiment using a hidden counter to see if the results would be any different. loosecannon did the same. neither of us noticed any difference at all.

I run graphic counters, but have given up on the Andale site. Too complicated. On Sunday I had a bid at 0.50c with 34 visits and $66.01 with 201 visits. If I get 34 visitors and all they will pay is 0.50c then I am happy. Guess the number of visits encourages bids. I will not be beaten as the winner at $66.01 said!

I use hidden counters exclusively, and usually glance at them one or twice during the run of an auction.

My largest count was 129 views of one auction, which only generated two bids. I'm not keeping statistics, just satisfying my curiousity.

My largest hit count was 3,228 - but it didn't meet reserve. Before that it was over 1,000 hit count and sold well over what I expected. I normally get less than 20 hits on an auction and have a pretty good sell thru rate.

Use the counters - if nothing else they are fun to watch!

I use hidden counters. The counter info is for myself, and not for my potential bidders.

I use Ruby Lane's hidden counters--absolutely great service. I like it so well I will soon send in the $$ for a premium membership.

I have the Ruby Lane counter page as a window in my browser and check it a few times a day. It puts all my auctions on one page, and has all the info I need including the high bidder and their feedback#. I never use MyEbay anymore.

I usually get a good # of hits on my auctions, and so when the counter shows hits are low on an item I figure I didn't do something right with keywords or categories...after a few days if hits are still low I will go in and revise the item to see if it helps.

Thank you for all your feedback!
Ok, I tried using the hidden counter option, now how do I get my stats? I tried to access them and it prompted me to sign up as a Andale user?
