My son has a Mavica FD73. When he sends his pictures to his image host they tell him they are too large. They allow 640 X 480 pixels, so how do we make them smaller to fit this size.
I don't know if you make the adjustment in the camera or at Arcsoft.

I have the same camera & have no problem.

You could edit them in your photoshop program, cropping them or reducing the pixel's.

Thanks Luv2, but how come I don't have to do anything to mine. I just shoot (closeups) & download.

I can't understand why my son can't do the same. Is there something on the camera that he may have changed?

Sorry double post.

I dont have that sort of camera, so that I don't know.

I know that on my digital camera I can set the resolution to "good", "better" and "best" which changes the pixels and makes the pictures, depending on what I need them for, better, etc. I keep it on the "good" resolution since the pictures are going up online.

Maybe you could check the settings? As I said, my camera is not that one, that's for sure, so I can't answer that one specifically.

Could be that, he will be here tomorrow & I told him to bring his camera. I'll try some pictures & see If I can download them.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Jane,

You or your son might check to see if the picture quality is set to Standard or Fine. This is shown on the LCD screen upper right corner. They would both be 640x480 but the Fine would be a larger file size. It can be changed in the Menu. While you are in the Menu check to see that the Record Mode is set to Normal.

Hope this helps.

I don't know how the Mavica work but my digital camera the picture size get small as you take more pictures.

if I take 5 pictures I get 5 huge pictures I have to scroll to see before I edit if I take 10 they are smaller if I take 15 or more no need to edit them small in some cases I have to incress the size some.

I think it has to do with the amount of memory the camera has to some exstent..

Bring the pictures into Arcsoft, click transform, click resample - then select whatever size you want.

I also use Arcsoft with my scanner pix, you can do a lot with that program.

He probably has it set for Bitmap rather than JPG. The Bitmap files take up WAY more room.

I have a Mavica FD73, take all my photos in email mode (320 x 240) and they look great for auction use as well as loading fast.

To set this - in camera mode (as opposed to "Play" - there are two seperate menu's)select the menu with the control button and click it; use the control button to select "Rec Mode" from the menu, click it; select either "Normal" (640 x 480 JPG) or "Email" (320 x 240 JPG) and click it. It will stay in this mode until you change it again. Hope this helps.

Hello Valleygirl,

I'm sorry but including any item number to an open or closed auction is a violation of our CG's.

Perhaps just pasting the image here within your post would be a viable alternative for you.

I will email you a copy of your post for ease of editing.

Thank you for your cooperation,
Sara
