HELP! I have several nice pieces of Fireking jadeite glasswear, BUT in the same batch, looking JUST like them were a few unmarked pieces. I figure those must be copies. BUT are they also called jadeite, even though they are not Fireking pieces? Can I just list the platter and small plates in glass/other and call it jadeite or should I go with green platter in the title to be safe?

The name "Jadeite" was a specific name given to the milky green glass by Fire King. Jeanette called it "Jadite", and McKee called it "Skokie Green". Martha calls it "Martha's Green Glass". Go ahead and call it whatever you want, though most searchers for it use the search words "Jadeite" and "Jadite". You can even put it in the "Fire King" category if you want, even if it isn't. Ebay doesn't seem to care, and other sellers flood it with non-Fire King items..you might as well too.

While KatyD you are absolutely correct, Carolann should also know that, in all likelihood, the items she has are indeed Fire King pieces. Much of Fire King is marked but much is not marked. The unmarked pieces are easily identified. If it looks exactly like the marked pieces, then indeed it is Fire King and you should not worry about incorrectly identifying it.

Just as a funny off-topic aside, I recently purchased two pieces of glassware described as being marked "Federal". I had never seen Federal pieces like these so decided I had hit upon a rarity.

When the items arrived and I examined them, the markings on the bottom said "The reuse or resale of these containers is prohibited by Federal law."

Did the seller lie?
