OK...I am fairly new to selling on eBay and do so on a very limited basis. I clearly state in my TOS that I accept MO or Personal Checks only. I have, however, registered w/ PayPayl and used it as the Buyer very recently. On a recent auction item I was selling, the Winning Bidder did not respond to my EOA notice and went right ahead and sent me payment through PayPal - I even reiterated in my EOA notice that I only take MO or Personal Check. I don't even know how I will be paid through PayPal! Do they just send me a check like BidPay, LESS their % of the sale??? It was only a $20 final bid - no big deal...Should I just accept this payment (and HOW do I go about doing that)? Or refuse payment and deal with a potentially POed Buyer? I know this topic has been posted here several times before, but I never paid too much attention as someone who only sells PT. Also, silly me, I thought my TOS and EOA notice were very clear! HElP...

HI,as you have no replies yet i will
answer the paypal payment question.
Let them pay you as the money just goes
into your paypal account straight away.
No cheques like bidpay.
As soon as you get the paypal email saying you have money its in your account less a small charge ready to spend on auctions or to transfer to your bank account.
I use paypal all the time to buy and now
i accept it for my auctions also.
OH.
Buyers dont read your details they just bid.

No charge at all for a personal account. Just verify your account with your banking info and transfer it in there. They have never charged me a thing.
edited to add:
Same thing happened to me. That is how I started even accepting paypal payments, was because one of my bidders went ahead and sent me payment that way. No problem, just go with the flow!

Yes some buyers take it upon themselves to do whatever they want to do. Also some try to get the $5 when you sign not knowing that you already are signed up.
Even when I accepted only mo's and cashier checks I still had buyers send me personal checks. I soon went back to accepting checks.

There are no stupid questions,we were all new once!i did a dumb thing when paypal was new i typed in my password 4times IN CAPITALS
& i had signed up with them in lower case.they locked me out,i got upset, called them came to this board...i didn't know why i couldn't get my money.Actually it is a good security measure, just watch that. They have turned out to be great for me,saves 30mile drive to the bank.you can keep it in you account to pay for auctions,or they will do a direct deposit to your bank account takes about 3 days,or for 1.50 they will mail you a check.to do this click on withdraw money.also note they will automatically insert the logos in your auctions for you, just be sure & click on the little one EBAY ALLOWS.You will get more sales if you accept it, & LOL people never read the TOS...never..good luck!
