Yes - very reliable. Wonder how many bought into the points program.

I have to admit, I was VERY skeptical of the new points program and WAS NOT going to PAY to snipe....but I DID!

I think their bids are being placed with much more accuracy and speed now. I was just checking to see if anyone else has observed this service improvement.

Plus, about a year ago there were several dozen different pieces of a rare item that were ALL expiring within 10 seconds (thanks to the dreaded Mr. Lister) and since I HATE normal bidding and ONLY snipe, I had to depend on the old e-snipe to get the job done. It failed me miserably at that time and I won NONE of the several dozen. NONE.
I was seeing RED!!

So, believe it or not, coming up this week is yet another batch of the same type item coming up, first time since almost a year ago, and even though e-snipe is totally revamped and under new ownership, I am still a little concerned---if for no other reason than the way I was totally burned last year.

(Yes, I know to bid early if I REALLY want something, but I prefer to snipe. I still do bid manually in addition to e-snipe if it's something I really want. However, the simultaneous expirations do make it difficult.)

eSnipe has been VERY good for me.

The only snipes I've missed are where my bid
was not high enough to beat the broxy bid or another sniper. But the system itself worked perfectly.

Who needs Sleep, Food, or a Life? eSnipe Sez: "7 Secs." advised (eBay Bid-Connection-Auction-End Times varying by -4 to +13 seconds in last 4 weeks) Sez: "Can Bid under 1 Sec." (We did, Once, but SO WHAT?) We Bid with 1 Sec. "Time Left" 99% of the time. Early Bids promote "Stalkers", "Emotions", "Feeding Frenzies". We Know few can Bid in the last 13 Seconds with Style and Challenge, but we welcome them. We know it is childish and silly to Bid in the last 4-6 Seconds. It is insane to Bid in the last 1 Sec. Because of our Sniping, we have "Lost" two (2) Winning Bids in the last 6 Months (can't recall Items), that is about a .037% Failure Rate. We have more Clocks, set at more Times, than we can believe. PDT, EDT, 1 Sec., 2 Sec., 3 Sec., 5 sec., 8 Sec., (Etc.) Early Bid wins are NO FUN. Everyone wants to buy our Clocks locally. Forced into a new "Hobby"! We almost joined "wSnipe", they have almost as good "Free-Tips" as our Friends say our methods are. "Cricket Jr." looks like a Pain, probably works just Dandy, but why use purchased Sniping Software? If you are new, practice on eBay's "Official Time" Site. 60 minutes BEFORE Auction Ends, practice Sniping at the item Page. Put your "Want-list" on "Short-Cut: Keys. Make SURE you have signed in, and have NOT exceeded 45 minutes without eBay activity. Set an old electric Alarm Clock for 15-30 Minutes before Auction Ends. Get a Big-Ol' Schoolhouse Electric Wall Clock (13"-16" OD) with a Metal Case. Refrigerator Magnets (3), Post-It Notes (2) Cut in small rectangles, one with a Black Arrow (Minutes) one with Red Arrow (Seconds). Put your WebTV on PIP for a Clint Eastwood Spagetti Western. Line up some good Video Tapes. Turn up your Marantz Amp & Speakers. Chill Corona or Rolling Rock. Nachos, Hot Salsa, Sour Cream, Chile. I have Manually Sniped 5 items within 4 Minutes using a WebTV-Plus RCA, a Phone Line Connection, and Corona. For the Neophyte Sniper, Print "12:12:12" on a used White Priority Mail Shipping Box in Broad Black Magic Marker. Circle the "12" for Sec. Left. 1 Box = about 12 Bids. Open your chilled Corona and take a swallow. Snipe. Scroll down to "Bidding History", Click. You lost to me. Turn Box inside out. Pack Clock. List it on eBay. Guess you do need "eSnipe"

PJ38:

I mean this in the nicest possible way; WHY are your posts such big, long, run-on sentences that are, for lack of a better word, incoherent?

This isn't the first time I, or others, have noticed.

Here's the "alledged" reason from another thread.

YUP ! We do "Stack" our Sentences somewhat, Sorry, it's our Microsoft-WebTV-Plus-RCA limiting spacing between paragraphs

Interestingly, other posters on web-tv don't seem to have share the same problem.

LOL!

Don't even get me started on dman! I will never understand how people manage to get out of school with skills(?) like that! Often times I will be reading a post and suddenly realize it's either a mess or not making any sense, so I look to the left and BOOM, there it is....dman!

It happens with such regularity that I now laugh when I see the name (but want to cry)!

I would love to see the two of them arguing in a thread!

If it's a Stern guest it'll have to be a woman, and she'll have to have implants 3 sizes too big.

WoW!! Just what we need here. The "grammar police".

For the record, I happen to like dman's contributions here. He knows a lot about computers and a lot about selling and he has been very helpful to many.

Each person has their own style. You don't like it? Then just don't read it.

Some people get out of school with great grammar skills and they can be a complete failure in the workplace.

I agree 100%, and thank you for posting that.

The rest of my comments/personal feelings on this subject would most likely get me suspended.

I hope I passed the spelling test.

For the record:

What I was refering to was not simple grammar or spelling mistakes. I'm talking about flagrant incoherency.

One of the reasons so many people don't bother to better themselves is because we in this society have become so apologetic in the excusing of ignorance and/or laziness.

For the record:

Some people have difficulty relating their thoughts into writing.

Others may suffer from this:

dys·lex·i·a [diss léksee ] noun
impaired ability to understand written language: a learning disorder marked by a severe difficulty in recognizing and understanding written language, leading to spelling and writing problems. It is not caused by low intelligence or brain damage.

I know a couple of people that suffer from dyslexia and they happen to be very intelligent and they do quite well in this world. But each time one of them e-mails me I wonder how they manage so well as they are unable to translate their thoughts into writing.

This has nothing to do with ignorance or laziness. They can run circles around me any day of the week.

Also please understand that English is not the first language of many of us here.

There is always an excuse. THAT is part of the problem.

It is a MESSAGE BOARD. If you cannot type and/or communicate well through the written word, then perhaps it is not for you.

I don't hear many stutterers or learning disabled people on the radio, do you?

Recognize the medium and know your limitations.

I think no matter what the medium there is no getting around that there are folks of different stripes who post.

I don't sense mean spiritedness from folks, just a sense of humor.

Since when were you appointed "grammar police"? The person you are ripping apart isn't even here to defend himself. He was posting just fine for ages before you even registered here.

Perhaps you don't recognize the medium? This board is open to anyone. Get it?

If we talk weird, spell funny, or smell bad we can still post here. Get it?

Gee Capriole, sorry if that offended you.
That was my nice-nice edited for AW version.

This thread somehow went from E-Snipe, to a personal attack on Dman3's writing skills, who as far as I can tell, hasn't even posted on this thread.

I for one have found Dman3's posts very helpful on AW. His personal knowledge of computers is light years ahead of mine, and I hope the comments from a couple jackasses don't cause him to leave.

Hello, in response to:

"It is a MESSAGE BOARD."

Did I miss out on the test? Were we supposed to pass an English spelling and grammer test before posting here?

And where does it state in the Official MESSAGE BOARD rules that this medium is for English speaking people that have passed College English 101 and have computers and internet access that allow them to type eye-pleasing, non-crammed together paragraphs?

I am wondering if you have ever actually tried to read the posts of the people you have mentioned because if you start at the upper left hand corner of each paragraph, read left to right, and don't skip any sentences, their posts make complete, perfect sense and actually permeate with wit and intelligence.

"I don't hear many stutterers or learning disabled people on the radio, do you?"

How would you have any idea if the people you were listening to on the radio were learning disabled. Someone that is learning disabled has the wires in their head a little off, and they have to work a lot harder than everyone else. However, someone that is learning disabled can read, write and speak as well as anyone else.

"Recognize the medium and know your limitations."

If you can't accept others that are not exactly the same as you, maybe you need to recognize your limitations and only communicate with people that meet your qualifications.

I find this thread very offensive. I'm dyslexic and I'll bet you had no idea until just reading it now.
