Well I received a phone call from my bank today, someone put a stop pay on a cashiers check- I have already left this d***head positive feedback- luckily I still have the merchandise, it was to go to Canada tomorrow- I just emailed him, he has a feedback of 6 and is currently bidding on a million other things.
Just think you get a cashiers check for a couple of bucks- put a stop pay on it a day or two later, mail it, get positive feedback and get your merchandise. Thank God I have a very small bank that calls me over everything or by the time I would have received notice in the mail it would have been toooo late. Cant wait to hear this guys story, I have a funny feeling I am about to get my first negative, I have no recourse he already has my positive. This has not been a good summer for me!

This is why you should wait to leave feedback. The deal is not over till you hear back from the buyer that they got the goods and are pleased.
In your case, that you get paid first. Good thing that your bank let you know before you shipped.

I just hate doing it that way, I usually only hold feedback on personal checks- I never even gave a cashiers check a second thought, I suppose I need to handle these the same way. Come to think about it I suppose a stop pay could be put on a money order too. JEEEZ-cant trust anybody

Yes, many [if not most] MO's can also have a stop payment put on them. At least unlike a CC chargeback, you will generally know within 30 days, and not up to 180 days.

You are so fortunate that your bank is willing to give you a call. I'm not sure my bank would do that for me.
This is probably going to earn me some boos but if you don't like his cover story, or he just blows you off completely, I'd give a head's up to his present sellers.
I always ship upon receipt of payment,in whatever form, but if this guy was my bidder, I'd like to know that I really needed to see that check clear first.

I am just happy that my bank is small enough(Northside Bank of Pittsburgh) That they just know everyone, and the head teller knows what I do and as soon as she saw it called me. It truly is a wonderful bank- If I would have been with a bigger one, Well I would have just received the notice in the mail and it would have been too late-
Hmm what the charge is to stop payment- I have no idea- being they actually charge for the money order or cashiers check I would assume a stop pay would be free.
Still no word back from the buyer- I am doomed for a negative I think, maybe I should write safe harbor and see if they will remove the positive- I doubt it, probably will get laughed at right through the computer

The new feedback feature now allows you to place a follow up comment under your first comment, WITHOUT the bidder writing a response first.
The only drawback is that you cannot respond to him, if he decides to reply.
