According to AuctionBytes, eBay now allows sellers to offer their item to underbidders if the high bidder fails to pay. The feature is called Personal Offer and is currently available in eBay Motors.

The offer and acceptance will be handled by eBay. 'Looks like eBay has finally figured a way to get their cut of non-paying bidder business!

If you don't want to receive Personal Offers you can set your preferences to indicate it. So, you can stop Personal Offers just like you can stop various other Ebay-related emails.

Whats the big deal?

I alway thought we could always offer to second highest bidder when the 1st one deadbeated.

Did I miss something in the 3-1/2 years I've been with eBay?

Am I the only one that thinks the "Personal Offer" feature will be used to backsell mass produced items?
