A set of 10 Alfred Hitchcock VHS movie tapes that has become a set of 9?

Or an antique State of Nebraska puzzle that has one piece missing?

I admit that I bought these knowing there were parts/pieces missing and now I'm wondering what to do--Goodwill? Garbage?

I thought about auctioning off little pieces of Nebraska but the auctions would probably go to half a million bucks or something, and those final value fees...

loosecannon, I wouldn't throw the puzzle away.

true collectors make replacement pieces if they really want the puzzle.

i would think the indians would be glad to get all of the state back, seems they have a portion of it now, as for the corhuskers themselves, i really didn't think they could read all that well just mostly numbers as in football scores etc and lets be honest there really is NOTHING there, outsidfe of rosenblatt stadium that is, home of the college world series.......but lets just hope they have a sense of humor hehehehe

What would they need a sense of humor for? I see nothing funny about your post.

well loosen up der loosecannon. it is quite a common practice for neighboring states and colloge rivals to make innocent fun of each other. maybe you should try and relax just a bit. life is not as serious as you want to make it, try smiling once in awhile...or maybe you are one of dem der cornhuskers...

i didn't know it was a contest and wasn't trying to win anything. I was making a point and if you missed it you must not have the joys of humor and college athletics in your life. That makes me sad for you...

sometimes you folks are wound just a bit too tight. the beauty of boards like this are the DIFFERENT responses threads get, it's the same thing that makes this country/world a great place, different people and different ways. It seems to me that all too often when someoine doesn't answer or do something exactly like you would or like you approve of ya'll adopt a holy'er than thou attitude. Loosen up!!!!!

Ok, now I get my nickles worth in this insulting thread. My son lives in Nebraska and there are many scenic and historic sites there...blowing sand, 3 mile long Union Pacifc trains, Car Henge and more. skeetypete, you're mistaking Nebraska for South Dakota.

skeetypete:

on Art Bell's radio show, they discussed a recent "rainfall" in KS of long, dried-out corn husks that fell from the sky on a cloudless day. Totally baffled the townsfolk. Although they didn't come forward to take credit, it was mentioned that it would be fantastic "one-upsmanship" for the Cornhuskers to drop these from a plane on or near their long-time rivals.

Skeetypete, I "got it"...and saw the humor in it. Having lived my life with Texan, dumb blonde, and Aggie jokes, I have a well-developed sense of humor. Very little offends me...and I rather like seeing it take another turn ocassionally...like someone else's turn.

Do I have anything against Nebraska/Nebraskans? No. Do I like to see us not take each other and ourselves so seriously? Absolutely.

Frankly, I thought LC was playing straight man, and had suckered you.

Apologies to all, especially Loosecannon...and I wish I had just stayed out of it.

Olyguy, I can't speak for the Nebraskans, but you have my permission to do all the Texas and/or Aggie jokes you want....if you hear a rumbling in the ground, it will be me laughing loudest. (But of course, I can't speak for other Texans who may be lurking!)

Is it sort of like inviting the buyer/seller to the thread before we can talk about them?

Don't waste any sympathy on me skeetypete. I've lived long enough without college sports that I just don't give a hoot. I haven't watched a college football game in 19 or 20 years. Don't miss it a bit.

BTW I found a nice copy of the Beatles' White Album yesterday at a flea market. Paid $.50 cents. An early numbered copy, with all the inserts (poster, photos). Except the Lennon photo (which I discovered missing when I got home). Gods were in a playful mood yesterday. Shoot!

You can find another John Lennon photo to replace that if you get lucky on another White Album.

I found an original Animals "House of the Rising Sun" 45 yesterday.
