Hi all

I just got a semi-rare board game yesterday and someone has written the description of the game on the white cover in narrow felt tip marker. Is there any way to get this off without damaging the glossy finish on the box?

Thanks! Don

I would first try a product called Goo Gone. Put it on a Qtip to limit the amount on the box. However, there is nothing that is completely safe to protect the original finish. Sometimes its ok and sometimes not.

I have sometimes ended up with such a mess --the price is gone because after my removal trys I had to use an exacto knife to cut a hole in the box!!!!

Other times price comes off wonderful.

If it is a somewhat glossy box, and white as you say, try bleach on a Q-tip. But don't smear around, just dab up and down, trying to absorb the ink, using a fresh Q-tip often. Some of these inks dissolve in different solutions, so you might also try alcohol.
