I have my own website for over a year. For $10 a month I got the domain name, a 50 mb site, unlimited email IDs and fantastic support from a consultant who even helped me with my javascript and asp, found me a mail script that I control to run my ezines, switched me overnite from unix to windows when I needed that for the asp and has been incredible. My site has had no down time in a year and I get just about 24/7 support via email or yahoo messenger. As of this moment my ISP is down (not his problem, I didnt get the ISP through him) but he gave me one of his accounts to use so I can get online while I wait for my ISP to fix the problem. Now that's fantastic support. You can email me for the details.

thanks. do you guys know of any hosting company that has a website? I know of many web hosts and am currently using two, so far, I'm really disappointed with the services, since it's almost like your site is up and you receive the emails when the tech. person from the hosting company is happy.
anybody has been relatively happy with their host?

I just started using Earthlink's StarterSite, which gives you 100MB of web space, 10GB of bandwidth, and 10 mailboxes for $19.95 per month.
So far everything works very well...
You might also look at Yahoo Websites, which gives roughly the same space and bandwidth, plus they are registering your domain name for free.

I have used Timehost.com for a year now with good service. To my knowledge, it has only been down once for about 4 hours. Rate is 9.95 a month for 100 meg and unlimited bandwidth. Includes 3 or 5 pop3 mail boxes and free domain registration with payment for 6 months service. Good support, CGI, Frontpage, etc. I actualy use it to host pics for myself and friends, plus a home page.

Check out Burlee at www.burlee.com. They have an unlimited plan (unlimited disk space and transfer) with a $19.95 setup fee, and a monthly fee of $12.95 if you pay by the year. If you already have a website and transfer it to them , you get the first month free. They do free search engine submission for all new accounts, offer both Front Page and Unix, and also offer upgrade options ranging all the way up to dedicated servers; if your needs change as you grow, you won't have to move to another host. Their customer support is outstanding, with phone support 9-9 daily and 24 hour e-mail support.
You can check out their ratings on this link:

Just posted this in another thread too. We're hosted by Dreamhost -- they have something like 99.9% uptime, and their tech support is superb. I'm not sure how much their basic account costs (we have a large account with multiple domains) but I know their rates are some of the most reasonable around for the quality of service you get.
Their website is at http://dreamhost.com if you want to check 'em out.

It seems that the days of free picure hosting are over (other than those really bad ones, who are hard to use and limit how many you can post) I have been on eBay for almost 5 years, and for the entire time I used to picure hosts (free) both were very reliable, the 1st one Geocities.com stopped letting people post pics 9for use on Auction sites) earlier this year....pics would only show up in their site (useless) then that left the old reliable TheGlobe.com never had a down day in over 4 years (that I can remember) but as of this week they are going the way of so many free sites of all types..kaput! (proof that pop-up and banner ads are worthless) everyone hates the things, and since free sites lived on those to pay the bills they are all dieing out now...I am looking for a good reasonable site to host my auction pics...there are many, most are not very good or too expensive for hosting pics...at least the ones I have seen so far.

I run a small website design and hosting company, in addition to selling on eBay. We have 99.9% uptime and offer 100 MB of space, 3 GB transfer/mo, 5 pop e-mail accounts (for your domain), 15 forwards/aliases, 9-5 tech support, for $18/MO. If you prepay for a year it drops to $16.50/MO. Two years is $15.75/MO.
I host all of my eBay images from my own webspace.
If anyone is interested, our site is: www.elitegrafx.com. Click on "Rates", then look for the hosting rates.
