Hah, I finally figured it out!

The road to easy street, that is.

Off to the resale shop today to pick up all the UGLY .90 shirts that I can find.
(we've seen them hundreds of times, all look like Brady Bunch '70's junk)

1,250 items currently listed with EMO in the title.....

EMO - similar (pronounced sim-a-liar) to MINTY........doesn't really describe anything.
(best as I can figure by looking)

Lot of old clothes listed as EMO, think I'll give it a shot.
(I did get a nice bike jersey for $1.50 once at the 'mission' store that sold for $25.00 on ebay)

This EMO thing new or am I just late getting here again?????

EMO... a musical genre, characterized by "soft arpeggiated guitars overtop soft airy vocals that build up and release into an orchestra of heavy distorted guitars and then brought back down to the original
quiet part. Emo lyrics are generally very poetic and range from topics of lost love to religious beliefs or other emotional subjects."

Concerning the EMO "Look":
"Before one can understand where “emo” comes from one must first understand what it is today. “I prefer to think of it [emo] as punk rock that’s more melodic and introspective/depressing than hardcore, but
still tapping into that primal energy and anger” (DeRogatis 1). This style of music has spawned a subculture of and scene that has been continually growing since the early nineties. Most of the kids look like
nerds; wear dark rimmed glasses, chuck taylor high tops, and thrift store clothes. It is pretty easy to stereotype an “emo” kid, which is ironic because no can seem to define “emo” music. "

"EMO" is the evil spawn of the generation of middle aged thrift store shoppers!

My kids started going to thrift stores with me (always the hippest mom on the block!) a few years ago.....oh what a nasty trend it has become!

The kids have finally found something to irritate their parents of the 60's!

Emo music! Blech! My youngest son has actually become a musician and gets PAID to play this depressing, monotone stuff.....I get my old Zeppelin and Hendrix records out..."can't you play something that has a beat?" I ask! He rolls his eyes at his old fogey mom!

My oldest son has at least two hundred thrift store t-shirts from the 70's and he knows where all of them are.....in the bottom of the laundry hamper, but no matter, he pulls them out and wears them anyway! His "good" clothes are polyester button up shirts and wrinkled old cords!

I do see the t-shirts do pretty well on Ebay, but for most kids, the thrill, as it is with their junk hunting parents, is in the find!

What goes around comes around! Teach you children well, right? LOL!

******
Edited for spelling. Must be all those drugs. At least my kids don't do drugs. They just look like they do. And the word "EMO" comes from the word "emotion". Whatever!
