First of all, I am new to this posting deal. I just have a beef. I figured this may be the best place to get the word out and spout off my feelings.
I am an insider on the "live webcast auction" business. I formerley worked with the pioneer in interactive webcasts, Livebid.com for 2 years. I have done auctions from LA to NYC to Sydney to London.
Well here is the problem. There are very few sites out there that offer live internet bbidding. ebay live auctions and bidspotter.com are the only 2 who stand out. Ebay has the upper hand in exposure(of course) and Bidspotter.com seems to be doing very well with the auctioneer experience and putting auctions on their site. There are actually 20 on Bidspotter tonight vs. 15 on ebay.
Of course this post may seem biased, but here is my comment:
If you were a bidder sitting at home and participating in an online auction, wouldn't you want to be able to first of all HEAR the auction in real-time, while the bidding is progressing? And why worry about having to have a high speed connection, when it is not required?
I have answered many support questions and built the site to accommodate auctioneers AND bidders alike. Everything is SO simple for all.
Someone, please tell me if there is more to ebayliveauctions than just the exposure. What I mean is, have you tried it and what was good/bad about it? I would give the "pepsi" challenge to you any day!
Sorry about the babble, but I had to say what I felt.
