I have had a really infuriating experience with the Post Office. Think those packages with Delivery Confirmation are really confirmed, think again. I was sent a check from a bidder in a priority envelope with a delivery confirmation tracking tag on it. It was logged in as having a "Confirmed" delivery to my city, but it only got into the hands of the carrier, and he proceeded to lose it. The bidder is not paying me any more money, to boot. He's disgusted as I am.

If you'd be willing to email me the DC PIC code ([email protected]), I'd love to poke around and find the tracking history on this.
We (endicia.com) will probably have the USPS signature confirmation feature embedded in our software by the end of this month. Granted it's not free like delivery confirm, but the service does require that the carrier obtain a signature from the recipient. (Of course if the carrier loses the package, that will never happen!!).

I very recently had a Media Mail package show as delivered and then show up a month later back in my mailbox tagged as undeliverable because the person had moved.
