WEST SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS
(WWLP, August 16, 2001)- A letter carrier hired for the summer months has been fired for allegedly throwing away mail he was charged with delivering. The mail has been found and will be delivered, according to Springfield's postmaster John Steele says the mail has been found, and will be delivered. Steele says hiring summer help is routine for the postal service, and says it's unusual to have problems with the temporary carriers.

A regular rural mail carrier did this in my community. He had more mail than he could deliver so it took it into a neighboring county, drove down a deadend dirt road and dumped it out! It was finally discovered and then discovered he had more mail at his house. Needless to say he has had charges filed against him and he no longer works for the P.O.!

In March, I placed 5 pieces of outgoing mail in my mailbox. I was home that day and watched for the delivery. As soon as the mail was delivered, I went out and got it. Not one of the pieces of mail I sent out that day got delivered. Not one. 4 were ebay payments and one was a cc payment. I seriously doubt the ebay sellers believed me when I told them I had mailed the payment. Since I use duplicate checks, I sent them a photocopy of the first check. I will always wonder what happened with my mail carrier that day.
Not my name on ebay.

Hi All, I had a heavy package go there in march, do you think he was there then, as my customer says they never recieved it, but it was scaned in as being delivered, and to boot, it was on a saturday, not the normal carrier. I spent a ton of money in phone calls to that postoffice. would be nice, to have it show up.
