Hi Everyone,
I'm new to auctionwatch but not to ebay. I'm an ebay powerseller, have been for two years, and have been selling on ebay for four years. In that time I've had mostly good experiences other than the regular flow of non-paying bidders. Until recently that is. I had an 8.00 item end on June 27. After nearly 6 weeks passed with no payment it was time to file the non-paying bidder alert. The alert was filed and sure enough, the bidder emailed. Only this time it was a little different. She emailed stating she was sorry for not sending the money and gave the correct item number but a different seller's name. I emailed her back correcting her info and gave her a deadline for payment or I would continue with the final value fee request and a neg in her column. She emailed back asking for the payment info again and again apologizing saying the payment would go out in the morning. I sent the payment info. The following day I received an email from her telling me what my ad stated, as if I didn't know, and then she laid it on me. She said she had already sent the payment and received the item! Huh! I've got the item right here. I emailed her stating she was full of crap and I've seen these games before. The following day I received an email only this time it was from her scary husband! He said he didn't like my obnoxious letter and went on to say nobody was out any money and it was ebay's policy to send the item after payment has been made. Hello! I'm out money pal was my response and I explained to him how I was out money and how narrow minded he was. I also explained to him that it wasn't ebay's policy about anything! It was my policy and my ad states it in my terms. I also explained to this new ebay customer (5 feedbacks) that they certainly should have read at least some of ebay's rules before signing up. I received his last letter tonight with a file attached (as if I would download this loser's file) showing the marks of a tray just like the tray I sold them (there must be thousands of these 8.00 trays around) and an attachment of my ad. Duh! I guess they thought they needed to show me where to find my ad (I've got 1600 plus feedbacks). Well, I didn't know where to go from there so I left a negative feedback in their column and notified Safeharbor. Has anybody had a similar problem? Just wanted to vent.

A while back I had a newbie (under 10 feedbacks) who never responded to any of my requests for payment. Then WALLA, one day I find he/she has left me positive feedback "Great Item, Super Seller"....HUH?????.....He/she never paid, I never shipped, to this day, I still have the item. I did email he/she after I saw the feedback, but never heard a peep from him/her. I suppose the game was baffle the seller....Annoying, but no real harm done!

I've had a couple of buyers bid on two very similar widgets of mine and then renege on one. They were using a bid they way the Watching feature is meant to be used. Oh well.

Here's another game for you.

DH and I do not take Paypal. A high bidder pays w/ Paypal. I send him an email explaining that we do not take Paypal and that he should go cancel the payment and send us payment as described in the EOA that I sent him. (We take billpoint, bidpay, money orders and cashier's checks for the record).

So, today, I get a payment in the mail from him. It is a personal check. He also enclosed a printout of our email conversation. On that printout, he circles the words "cashier's check" and writes in the margin beside it, "per your request".

Now, I guess he supposes that I will believe that he just does not know the meaning of cashier's check. But, he has A LOT of good feedback, so he should know better if he has been dealing on Ebay this long.

I wouldn't be so perturbed by this except for the fact that, like everyone, I hate being lied to, "played". He could've just emailed me before the auction ended and asked if we could work out a different payment arrangement. At least then, I would respect him for asking. Now, I know I won't ever bid on any of his stuff next time I am browsing on Ebay because these games leave a bad taste in my mouth.

That is probably true scuzzypete, thought I would point it out since that particular spelling caused me to suck a mouthful of Dr. Pepper up my nose when I saw it.

I know you are having fun, but playing games with usernames will end up having someone be offended.

Just make sure you know the person you are messing with realizes it's a joke.

I'm officially turning into my mother!

Looks like there is no end to the 'Games' that will be conceived (or should I say aborted??) by a NPB. The two I really get tired of are: 1) I never received your EOA please send it again (I've had several bidders play this tag 3 to 4 times back and forth, until I started using email acknowledgement), and 2) 'You've got my payment, when are you going to ship? (when payment has never been received).

If these NPB's would use their energy for completing the transaction as much as they do for concocting fairy tales, I would not be getting so old so fast..............
