* * * For the past several months eBay has been really slow for me, especially looking through lists and returning to the list after viewing an item. The slowdown seems to occur when eBay runs out to the ads.aol.com site to grab one of those useless-as-you-know-what ads to shove in my face.

After complaining to eBay, they suggested using <SHIFT - BACK> to return to the list page. It does actually seem to speed things up!

Does anyone have any idea if this is true, or why it works?

I'm using Netscape 4.72 in Win98.

I'm not familiar with Shift + Back, but what I always do when browsing a list is to "Open in New Window" when I go to the specific item. That leaves the list intact in a separate window.

With Internet Explorer, this is done by right-clicking on the link, and selecting "Open in New Window." Need help from a Netscape user to get technique for that browser.

Edited for typos!! and to say, the "Shift + Back" may work by going back without refreshing the list. If the computer doesn't have to download the search again, it doesn't take as much time.
