Can someone recommend an all-inclusive auction managment solution which will allow me to continue to post all of my listings through Vrane, while still keeping track of the auction details?

I want to avoid listing my ads through the auction management program, due to the large amount of time it would take me to make the transition. I use custom forms, which I created, and they do not work with the template settings included in most of these management programs.

Any recommendations or solutions would be appreciated.

What do you mean custom forms? I use AuctionTrakker -- inventory, list, track, email management, print invoice... it does everything I want in an auction program.

I created my forms in HTML. They're a nice clean framed listing form that incorporates photographs and text together the way I want it.

Since these services have listing programs that provide their own cookie cutter forms, my custom listings will not work with them.

Can I use Auction Trakker's features without listing my auctions through their service?

I use AuctionTrakker to take care of all my post-auction management and I list my auctions through an entirely different service.

AuctionTrakker is a WONDERFUL program, I don't know how I managed without it!

Yes. The program does not require you to use any specific template. I create my own templates in DreamWeaver and paste the HTML directly into AuctionTrakker. This program provides the flexibility of using your own HTML.

Also, there is no added charge for listing through AucionTrakker. It could save you some money if you stop using vrane.com for listing.

I've got an html template that I use to create auctions in BBEdit. I then paste the html into Auction Watch Pro's description field. then send it on. Arttsupplies (owner) has everything else in an Excel spreadsheet. Arttsupplies (shipping) uses the post sale stuff at www.auctionwatch.com

Auction Tamer lets you create any kind of template you want--I love the program! I have created some all-purpose templates, as well as quite a few specific to the categories I use most often.

You can also create all the post-auction management info you want--winning bidder notices, follow-ups, anything you personally feel would make your business easier to run.

Creating a new listing takes only seconds once the photos are uploaded to my host site. All I have to do is pick the template, and the auction description I create is placed right into the template. I type in the title, the "name" of my pics (ex: blob1 blob2 blob3), type in the starting price, and BIN if there is one, shipping charge, and I'm done. If it's one of the all-purpose templates, I just have to type in the category # as well.

Auction Tamer will even let you schedule posting at a later time, but your computer has to be on and AT running when the posting takes place. None of my scheduled auctions have ever been stuck in processing, ever. You can pick the "delay" between listings yourself, from seconds to minutes apart.

The post-auction management is incredibly quick and simple. There are template emails already in place, but you can customize them as you please, and add as many others as you like.

I've tried lots of systems (including AW). I never tried Auction Trakker--it sounds good too--because once I tried Auction Tamer (two-week free trial period) I was hooked and stopped looking.

There is a one-time fee to purchase the software key, with all updates free. The price is $49.95 directly at the site, but $39.95 if you go through an affiliate (i.e., happy customer--I'm a happy customer but don't have a website so am not an affiliate so I have no financial interest in recommending AT). There's no charge to list and no fvfs.
