Hi to all.
Just wanted to know if there is a market
for c-ban satellite receivers? If so where would you post it and what would be a fair price on one.
Thanks for any info..
Yes, I know, they are becomming History. LOL

Your question is a bit too general. Yes, C-Band systems are still in use and there would be some interest out there. It's impossible to indicate a fair price since you didn't post any information at all. Certainly a cheap Uniden receiver would bring much less than a top of the line Toshiba.

I did a little searching and found dealers selling the same receiver new for around $249. Since yours would be used you would have to account for that in your starting price and adjust accordingly. If you've had it a while I wouldn't set the starting price any higher than half of the $249 and probably much less than that.
There haven't been any auctions on ebay of that receiver but a higher model sold in a foreign market for $163 and it was new.
If this is an item just sitting around collecting dust and you are just trying to get rid of it, start it out at $50 minimum bid and see what happens. Don't forget to include enough shipping costs in the terms of the auction or you'll have to take even more out of that final price. I recently sold a satellite receiver and it weighed 7lbs. With Priority Shipping and Insurance it cost $12. Make sure you account for enough weight. Insurance shouldn't be too much on this item.
The Vidercipher RS just means you have a receiver capable of using the current security methods. Be sure to indicate if you are supplying the card for the unit and if there is any unpaid programming fees on the receiver.
Thanks for the info.We just went to the dish
network and I thought I might sell this receiver. Hubby didn't want to give up the old c-ban !!!!! LOL
THanks for your time,I appreciate it.

I personally would start the bid at $9.99 to save on listing fees and get early bids started. After all, bids reap more bids.
I would also offer the buyer choice of shipping options to save a few $$$$. UPS includes insurance for no extra cost and most of my buyers seem to appreciate that.
