some seller will ask the high bidder if they want the glass removed.
also there are special packaging for shipping glass frames and they could be expensive

Hi Susan1232,
I have sold several framed prints of various sizes.
I go to the local hardware store, and purchase a sheet of 1/2" thick styrofoam board that I cut to the size of the face glass.
First, I wrap the frame with plain newsprint or layers of tissue paper, put the styro board on top of glass area, then wrap the whole thing with bubblewrap. Back and front of the bubble, I cut a cardboard sheet and tape this on, so it virtually becomes "double-boxed". I package in a box with about 2" of space over top, and at least 1" on bottom, and wad newspaper tightly in the space. I find peanuts rattle around and shift too much for large sized prints.
Anyhow, that's whats worked for me in the past with no breakages to date (I have sold 20 or more prints/frames/mirrors, etc in the past)
