Hi everyone
I am just trying to figure out when most people start buying for xmas on good ol ebay.
I for one, am doing my christmas shopping now, to avoid the rush later! (lots of good sales now too in the stores, and online shopping like amazon)
I would just like everyone's opinion on when sales start picking up for christmas.
Thanks!! I have a lot of stuff to list but am afraid to list too much of the good stuff right now since I see business is a bit slow right now on ebay.
Have a great day!

I don't celebrate Christmas, so I never start my Christmas shopping on ebay.

Sometimes I've seen it kick off about the same time the advertising starts getting heavy in stores.

In my case, between Thanksgiving and the week of Christmas, it was a feeding frenzy.

Just a thought 9my ONE for the day).

In my auctions, I refer to it as the "holiday season" trying to encompass Christmas & Hanukkah.

And I don't celebrate xmas. I celebrate CHRISTmas.

Allowing for shipping time, I'd say probably sometime after Halloween and before December 10th.

I don't do christmas either {shuddering at the thought of all the local craziness!} but have no problem wanting to sell stuff to others who do! So, that said, I hope that it starts very soon. I'm thinking that it will start mildly in Sept and start going really well by Oct.

Right after halloween is when the stores pick up around here. It's awful, traffic, long lines to get everyday items, etc. I hate it...although I guess I might take advantage of it for selling this year.

Thanks for all the answers already! They have been very helpful!
And to all those who do not celebrate Christmas, I should have said "holiday shopping" I did not mean to exclude anyone!! And of course I celebrate "christmas, not xmas" as someone else pointed out, I was just shortening it didn't mean anything offensive by that either.

No offense taken here either.

A few years ago, I heard someone say that
when you use "xmas" instead of Christmas,
you are putting an X through Christ. I've
never forgotten it, and now no longer use
"xmas" (okay, except here to explain this...)

X-mas is often used based on the Greek spelling for Christ. Just sose you know. I prefer the full name spelling myself.
