This is something that burns me up...probably moreso than any other ebay-related issue.
Why, oh why, does ebay allow bidders, who retract, to leave whatever commentary they like on the bid history page, on my listing...which I pay for?? This was left on one of mine today:
"bid on wrong item. Item pictured is different than description"
The item is accurately described, but that's besides the point. This dimwit is essentially commenting on my item, to any bidder or potential bidder who looks, and ebay allows this. It's interference, plain and simple, and I cannot understand why ebay doesn't revise their policy where this is concerned.

I agree with you, that it is auction interference. I would email the auction to ebay and ask them to review the comments left within your bid history and remove them.....they do not fall into reasons ebay lists as valid reasons for a bidder to retract a bid along with the fact that they are interference to your auction. Good luck!

Good point, julesy, and one I haven't seen addressed before.
If you decide to email eBay and get a response, let us know about it. (Not that it'll probably be a helpful response though, but you never know. ) http://bjgrolle.freehomepage.com

I agree! Why are sellers limited to just a few set reasons for ending an auction, and yet bidders can say anything they da$m well please???
I had a jerk leave a rotten retraction reason on an ebay motors listing I had--my "baby", an older Honda that had been lovingly maintained. The jerk was the high bidder for several days, and then retracted with a lie, saying "Went to see that car and it's not as nice as described in the auction."
$&#*&Y%#(&#$%*(&((&*&*(!!~~~!~!
The jerk had never even emailed me, let alone come to see the car. If anything, the car was NICER than listed in the auction--and yet there sat his retraction right at the top of the page for everyone to see.
I emailed ebay and called it auction sabotage. They agreed! I cancelled all the remaining bids and ended the auction, and they refunded my listing fee.
I ended up selling the car to a neighbor who knew what a great little car it was. Had a LOT of disappointed bidders email asking why the car had been withdrawn--the jerk cost them the chance at a really nice used vehicle.
