Has anyone received any emails from Half.Com in there last three days. We have not gotten any & they where very spotty before that. They also have not gotten back to us about other problems we have been having. Their email system goes down about once a week or so lately.

Something is sure screwed up at Half! I got an order a few days ago for a book I deleted out of my inventory several months ago!
Not skyline8 on eBay.

Hi sky, I know what you mean. We where supposed to go out of town for a few days last week. I put our inventory on vacation. At the last minute we decided to stay home. his was over a period of several hours. When I went back in to turn my inventory back on We had received an order. I know it was not from before I shut down because I turned the computer on, we had no orders, then I got a phone call, when I went back to actually turn the inventory back on it was there & the system still said I was on vacation!

I haven't had any sales for the last 5 days, which is unusual. But I have received emails from them about a problem sale.

Had a sale yesterday;email was fine. Things are just a bit slow on Half in the last few days, but this is still my best period there to date.
You do need to check the site daily; email is not always trustworthy.

I got a You've Got A Sale e-mail from them this morning on a new sale. Unusual, given all the problems they've been having with it.

Spittingcamel,
Your mysterious sale after "going on vacation" was most likely due to a customer having your item in their cart before your decision to put your inventory in limbo. Items can be out of your inventory for several hours before the sale finally comes through on your computer screen.
I always try to keep a running record of how many items I have listed on Half. This way when I put my inventory in limbo I avoid any possible last minute sales.
Hope this helps,
Rogerdodger

Half.com must still be out there.....somewhere. I keep getting their damn pop-ups. Wouldn't go to that site if the books were free.

Missing emails are nothing new. Happens so often I have stopped writing customer service and just check my account page every day.
Missing customers are another thing. They only use a couple of kinds of promotion and they are annoying (popups) repetitive ($5/10 new customer discounts) and unimaginative (ebay cross-promotion wallpaper), and has no effect on those who have already purchased.
The first thing I learned in marketing is that you can get an existing customer to buy again a lot easier than finding a new one.
Half.com really needs to get some marketing help that knows what they are doing.

I woke up this morning to find a YOU'VE MADE A SALE note in my inbox. As I scrolled down I reached for the box of trading cards that I have listed there - and found I sold my first BOOK on half.com last night. 8)
I'm quite happy - I just put a couple of my old books up there and stuffed them in the closet - I never actually expected to sell one - I'm so happy! I also got a box of children's books from a co-worker that I'm going to put up for her - just to see if anything sells.

Well today I got email that one of my previous sales apparently got lost in the mail. 8( Ruined my 5.0/5.0 feedback because the buyer left me a 3/5 before I even found out the shipment was lost - *frown* Hopefully they'll either show up or be returned to me - my address was CLEARLY marked on the address label on the envelope. Sometimes it DOES take a while for mail to be returned when its undeliverable.

Well I am now hitting my best period ever on half--largest volume and dollars. Hopefully will have one or two more good sales before it ends.

Anybody crosslisting all of their Half.com items on Amazon Marketplace and other sites? Half and Amazon have slowed down for me the last few weeks and I'm thinking of crosslisting all of my VHS, DVD, and book listings on Carnaby and BargainandHaggle since they both offer free listings. Looking at Carnaby they sure could use VHS and DVD listings cause there's almost nothing listed there. If these items sell on Carnaby or BargainandHaggle they only take a 5% FVF as opposed to the 15%+ Amazon or Half demands. Carnaby's bulk lister should make it a snap to list a 1000 items, and VHS and DVDs don't really need a pic aside from an accurate description. It might become a logistical nightmare to keep track of what's listed on each site if I get a ton of bids all of a sudden, but I can live with that!
