Just wanted to ask what you guys think about auctions running on a holiday weekend? Do you think you have fewer lookers/bids?

I am going to list all this week but doing 10 day auctions so they will run through the holiday. I think that way since a lot of kids are back in school now ( school started here today)~ mothers will be thrilled to have quiet time alone on computer to shop.

2 weeks ago my ebay sales were way down but last week they picked up a lot. I sell mostly vintage clothing, etc.

So I would say, as long as you don't have them end on Labor Day weekend or even day after, you should be ok !

Our last few auctions end in the next day or so. None will be listed again until AFTER the Labor Day weekend. As we will be gone most of the time between this Friday and next Tuesday so will be most of our bidders I figure. Here in the midwest, summer ends shortly. We're on our last few nice weekends and we plan on taking full advantage of them, as do many other people.

The best deals we have ever gotten on ebay were on holidays so I may spend a few moments seeing what I can 'steal', if anything.

"Buy it now!" items may be ok, but anything of value I would hold on to for a little while.

Agree with gina50. Am ponying up the extra $.10 and listing 10 day auctions for the next day or two. Can't afford not to list, but don't want them ending over the Labor Day Holiday. Just from past horrendous horrible auction endings from the past Labor Day. And am busy doing a real life show over the holiday.

It's a bear when real life intrudes on my eBay selling.

I've always had wonderful luck with selling on holiday weekends. Mine will be ending on Monday, Labor Day.

A couple of things to consider:

1. Not everyone has the weekend off

2. Not everyone goes somewhere for the holiday.

3. By Monday, some people may be surfing to get away from the in-laws, to get a few minutes piece away from the kids, get out of the heat or have had all the beer and burned BBQ they can stand.

4. It's NOT a holiday in the rest of the world.

All I can attest to now is that everything I've listed to end Friday has ended with at least one bid. That's never happened before... Not sure what this weekend will look like, but today was definitely a good day!
