I hope I'm not opening Pandora's box or discussing some taboo subject, but....

Any of you using Baypal for your image hosting or other tools? I sell on ebay only as a hobby, and rarely post more than 6-12 auctions a month. I have been using AW auction manager, but I'm always looking for the BBD (bigger, better, deal)

Pro's? Con's? Like's? Dislike's? I saw a link to this site from somewhere, and just went over to check it out. Just curious...

Thanks

Tim

Just checked it out... interestinggggg....

I looked into the forums link and the only hang ups I see is that they seem to be having trouble with their images either disappearing or not showing on ebay at all. Some irrate sellers posting about this. Mabye they fixed the problem?? Worth getting some feedback on and keeping them in the back of your mind. (I will... thanks for the heads up!)

I'm a happy Baypal customer. I like the service so much I'm now a "premier" member at the whopping huge price of $5 per month. This buys me 75 mg of picture storage plus all the site extras. I really like the abiity to store my photos in "albums" which means I group them together by listing days--easier for me than sorting through a huge run of hundreds of pictures when I forget what I named the darned thing. Pictures can be moved from album to album with a click, so if you have a batch of listings that sell, but one or two that didn't, you can easily delete the sold/paid/shipped items, and transfer the unsold item pics to a new album.

If you check the dates on those message board complaints you will probably notice that they all referred back to a one-time outage that affected one of their servers (not the whole site). The server affected was one assigned to "pay" members like me--yes, it was a bit annoying to have my pictures down for several hours but this happens with every site. I know that I used another site for one day's listings, and during the course of the auctions my pix were down for several hours TWICE during the auction period. The difference between that site and Baypal was outstanding CS--they kept members informed throughout the outage of the status, and shortly after the outage occured they gave me and every other affected seller a whole month of service for free to make up for it. My friend, also a premier member, had no auctions running at all during that time and they still gave her a free month, just because her pix were on that server.

My pix always show up in my auctions. They're crisp and clear and best of all I just upload them without resizing, and my templates automatically resize them with no extra effort on my part.

I used all the tools to create my own customized templates which suit my needs perfectly.

The site offers quite a few other benefits, but I'm happy with my auction management program so never got around to using the Baypal extras. I feel the template generator and pic hosting are well worth the $5 monthly fee I pay. (Except for next month, which is free, lol).

I'm a recent BayPal convert. LOVE them! Cheap and the pictures are some of the clearest I've seen in auctions. Highly recommended. (And you can't go wrong with the flat $5 fee a month - better than the "per image" charge that most places utilize.)

I have been a $5 a month Premiere Member for about 6 months. I have gotten four of my online friends to convert there. It is a great service run by a fellow who answers your questions quickly, no computer auto responses. The pics are huge and none of the 'click here to enlarge' stuff that buyers don't care for. I have had pics disappear, but only for minutes, not hours. It is a rare occurance. I love the customized folders where I can sort out 'sold' from 'listed' pictures. Also, they allow lots of space as I generally use only 10%-15% of my allowed space. I have WebTV and it is very easy to use. I highly recommend this service.

Love them so much! Love them Love them Love them! Have I been clear enough? The only "downside" is that I have not figured out if there is a way to get automatic thumbnails with my list of images - but you can click on the "see image" and it pulls it up right away. The plus side to this is that if you desire, all of your images are listed on one page, no clicking page after page trying to get to the place you need. (And if you would rather, use the folders as discussed earlier). Image uploading is super fast and easy! All users get emails FROM THE FOUNDER if there is a problem, and he even (gasssp!) ~apologized~ after the recent outage.

Bye Bye thread!

One other thing before this thread gets locked, they have a great "adults only" joke thread. I get all of my dirty jokes from there!
