I recently picked up a Magitronix 7500A laptop that naturally doesnt work because it came without the AC adaptor to recharge the batteries...
I checked ebay but this part isnt around. At this time the only thing I know about it is that it is apparently a 486 ( I dunno the speed) and that it has a 528 MB hard drive.
I am not looking to spend ALOT of money getting this working. I can pick up laptops for about $50 at a market. But I am looking to get a laptop to use on the road.
Any info on this unit or help finding an adaptor would be greatly appreciated...

Many thanks Joice
The company is out of business so tech support is not an option. There are many eBay vendors here who sell computer equipment so I was hoping one could point to a source after I checked ebay, or offer themselves.
Wasn't aware of the 'Wanted' board. This message section after a while feels like the only one in town.

Gas is around $1.25 to 1.38 for regular in the South Jersey area. Going up again, after Bush gave the Arabs the OK to raise prices. Oil companies are fuming, strangely. Was looking for the website of Sothebys, when I came across www.sotheby.com which is an oil company newsletter where Bush was roundly flamed!
This message section is more or less the equivalent of eBay's town square. Anything seems to be OK as long as you don't discuss anthting resembling a competitor or a certain 'free' auction site....

Charger devices have a specific voltage charge with a specific polarity and style plug. If you know the voltage needed, say 12V at a given rate, and the polarity, you can readily substitute another manufacturer's device to work. The info should be in an instruction book or available somewhere on the web. Even if you can't find an exact one, you can usually make one if you can solder two wires.
Chances are good that someone else's unit will work as all these puppies seem to come out of the same group of plants in the Far East. You might also need to find an extra battery or two while you are shopping.

I've checked with the owner of a web site dedicated to this model. Half his links are dead, and he no longer owns the unit, nor remembers too much about it. He thinks its a Dx-4/100 which would make it perfect for my purposes.
I asked about schematics for precisely the thought of building an adaptor, but apparently schematics for hese things are non-existant, and the company is out of business. Its a 14.4 battery with three lugs, which kinda complicates things since I do have an adjustable lab power supply, and I would hate to try charging to wrong polarity or voltage! Havent put a meter to it yet, but that might hopefully give me a clue.
Since this unit would run Win98 (as does my other 486 DX4 console) I eventually would like to find a modem/cell phone combo to allow me to check prices on eBay on certain items when I am away! Speed is not an issue here, and a 486 would be fine for this purpose. Its fast enough even for a 56k winmodem...
