I've never had this happen before. Rec'd an email about an auction that closed tonight with no bids. They say they tried to bid at last second and couldn't and would I sell it to them for that price (opening bid). Should I do this or just tell them I will relist the item?

Hi Susan

It is against eBay's rules to sell outside the auction arena. I would suggest to re-list and tell the person to bid. Or the other way around. You may not want to relist if they aren't going to bid.

Also consider the BIN that may speed things up unless you think it may generate a bidding war?

Good luck

just re-list it then email them back and give them the auction #
and tell them not to wait so long next time...

Thanks for the help. I felt that would be the right thing to do. I have relisted the item and sent an email. We'll see if they bid.

Susan

Yes this way it covers your assets. Can't leave a neg if it is done without eBay in the middle
