Hi. I want to start off with a low bidding price, but want the bidding increment to start at $0.50 What the lowest bid price I need to set in order for this happen. It seems with penny auctions, the bid increment is a nickel.

Thanks.

Start it write around $10. $9.99 works well.
The first bidder will bid and any second bid
will have a minimum of $10.49 NOT $10.04

To answer your question, I believe $10 is the minimum which will put the bid increment at $0.50
