I have a clear cut case of shill bidding going on with someones auctions. I would not have even picked it up had she not asked me for help to get started with auctions(she actually won an auction of mine then emailed me for help on how to get started)

I emailed her two days ago after I picked up what she was doing(I have put a couple auctions on my watch list wanting to know how my "student" [dumb] was doing)and told her she should stop before she gets caught.

She has chosen to ignore my last email and keeps doing it, I have never ever turned anyone in for anything before, but I feel like she is cheating people out of money and I do not agree with that at all!!! Not to mention I feel a little guilty since she was a customer of mine.

I would be happy to email the two IDs to anyone to get some thoughts.

Seems to me that you were helping her when you advised her that what she was doing was wrong. Now that she has ignored your message and is deliberately continuing to shill bid, I would think it perfectly appropriate to turn her in to ebay.

if this is a "clear cut" case of shilling, why bother anyone else? just send your evidence to safeharbor and ask them to disposition the situation.

Of course, she will suspect/know you turned her in if safeharbor acts, if that is a concern to you.

Who cares what she does....shilling should be allowed anyways...it is legal in a real auction and happens all the time.

captainkirk,

I am not trying to bother anyone, I was just hoping to get an opinion on WHAT would you do in my situation??? I have never turned anyone in before, not sure I would even know how to.

She was my customer, I did help her...just gives me these pangs of guilt...on should I or shouldnt I, or should I just mind my own buisness and let someone else get her.

Dman3,
NO NO NO, I was teaching her when to list, how to write descriptions, take pictures, told her about Auction Watch ect....She emailed ME asking questions because she had some items she wanted to sell.

I wanted to see how her auctions were doing with my expert advice and thats when I picked up she had 8 bids from the same person so I got a little nosy and found out more then I wanted to.

I have never shilled, never would teach or tell anyone to.

I am just asking if you were me, would you turn her in.

Yikes I didnt think of that...well if she is it may be for the best. I think she is truly a nice person but that doesnt make what she is doing right.

I really do not appreciate that comment, I did email someone else from here and they seemed to pick right up on it, Its not that hard to do...and so far have received advice from him which is what I wanted to begin with.

After reading a lot of these posts and asking for advice I should have known I would get blasted for something way off of the subject.

and yes I have auctions going off tonight that I am excited about so I am sitting on the computer and I guess you are too.

by the way I have decided to just leave it alone. I figure to each his own, I am honest and thats the best I can do. If people want to shill bid that is terrible, that is why if I am interested in something I buy it in the last 20 seconds of the auction. I figure someone else can get her.

My husband told me to mind my own buisness and I guess thats what I should do.
