I submit gallery pics that are 96 x 96 pixels. They come out looking very nice in the "Gallery Only" page. But then, eBay resizes them or scales them down or something, causing them to look extra wide on the "View All Items Including Gallery" page.
Needless to say, this is not a good thing for clothing auctions. Most of the images start out taller than they are wide and after I resize them, I usually fill in the entire background with white to eliminate the black borders that end up on either side. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I just can't figure out how to get them to look the same on both pages.

eBay/IPIX may be using some sort of "intelligence" to scale your picture to a standard picture size ratio of 4:3. So your 96 width 96 height pic may get scaled to 120 width and 96 height and thus everything looks fat.
Try resizing your pics to 120x96 and see what happens.
