Hello. I have a older compaq presario computer. Works fine but I dont know a whole lot about it. It says I believe it has 28 ram and a 56k modem. Most times when I am on the net, it runs fine but slow. Someone told me to install more memory. Upgrade to 128. Would this help me load pages and do work faster while I am online? Thank you for your time.

probably. If your machine is slow during normally "fast" times for the internet, then it isn't your modem holding you back.
Adding memory to your machine would do wonders if this is the case, unless your processor is hideously slow (if its, oh, 133Mhz or slower, your whole machine may just plain be slow, and its time to get a new one if possible).

Sounds like you have a machine that has 32MB of RAM and is using 4MB for video memory for the onboard video.
DEFINITELY put more memory in the unit, it will speed things up significantly. Matter of fact, with RAM prices as cheap as they are go for 256MB of RAM if you can. Some systems are limited and won't take it, but 128MB should be the bare minimum nowadays.
