Do any of you charge a fee to your buyers for using paypal......I see some people doing this now and wondered if there are others that do.
I hate the paypal fees, but not sure how buyers would react to being charged a 50 cent or so fee.

I thought that it was illegal and/or against policy to charge a fee for the use of a credit service. Others might be doing it, but at their own risk. Hope to see some more enlightened answers on charging fees.
I think some may have a "hidden" fee in their handling fees to cover it but don't broadcast it in their listings and TOS.

If a seller tries to charge you paypal fees turn them into paypal. If you see an auction on ebay with paypal fees turn them into ebay.

Passing the fee to your customers as a seperate PayPal fee is against the PayPal TOS as well as the Ebay TOS, if you incorporate your cost to use PayPal into a shipping and handling charge that applies to all sales regardless of how the customer pays, then that is not against anyone's TOS

Have you EVER been charged extra when using a credit card in a "brick and mortar" store? Wouldn't you be mad if the cashier said "That will be another 50 cents for using your card?"

But, I do have a question - does PayPal charge on the actual bid amount, or do they also charge on the shipping?

Beautiful weekend here in Maryland!

Nope i'm not chargeing anyone any fees to use paypal or billpoint these fee's have to come from the sale of the item raise your prices just a bit to cover it.

this chargeing fees to buyers for use these services is against there policies, if you dont like the fee's and don't want to pay them do like walmart just did to Visa debit cards and stop offering the service to your customers.

earthmum,
Paypal charges a fee for the total amount sent, they don't separate the bid price from the shipping. (of course this only applies to premium accounts-personal accounts are free within limits)

earthmum - PayPal charges for the total amount of the payment, and does not differentiate between actual auction amount and shipping/handling/insurance...

beautiful weekend at the beach in SC also!

I've never been asked to pay more when I've used a credit card but I HAVE asked for and been offered a discount when I've paid with cash or a check. Re: eBay and PayPal...it's not "illegal" to offer a discount on shipping/handling if buyer pays with MO or check, is it? Is anyone doing that?

i am in texas, this is a legitimate medicine shop and i buy dark tree fungus from them on a regular basis,it contains a lot of hydrocarbon and is good for removing tiny fibers and toxins from your bloodstream,if you work in cotton or woodpulp industry and inhale a lot of dust and fiber or you are a big time smoker of tobacco, this is good for you.
i like to add them in my stir fry dishes or soup or casserole and it is good for my complexion as it does remove some impurity from your body as hydrocarbon /charcoal does.
anyway, this clerk figures i am not going to blow the whistle on them, and she does not want to run 9.99 thru the machine.

Did you guys know that Domino's Pizza charges an extra .25 if you pay by check? I have wondered many times if this was legal, but don't know who to ask!

I live in North Carolina BTW.

Yea, I pay the extra .25 but I sure don't like to. I just deduct it from the delivery boy's tip.

One seller had this:
Ad 3 % of total if you are paying by Paypal,
I dont use Paypal because the charge me..
Herbal store, huh?
I guess he ment if you pay cash
He wont charge you tax,
If you pay by credit card he has to show it as a transaction, cash is money in the pocket,
No tax - no sale - no proof
