I'm selling a picture that was our aunt's. We've always assumed it was Wedgwood because it looks like Wedgwood. On the bottom it only says "England." Any thoughts for me?
I'd post a picture of it but I am a disaster at posting pictures here. Have tried and failed lots of times.
EDITED TO ADD: We're selling a PITCHER, not a Picture. Sorry!

Wedgwood usually says Made in England on the bottom of them, the pieces I have also say "Wedgwood" but I don't think all Wedgwood is marked. Hard to tell without a picture or actually seeing it in person.
Can you just post the URL of the picture here? I will post the actual picture here on the thread if you would like....

I said "picture" when I meant "pitcher"! Sorry.
Executivegirl--I'd LOVE to post a picture here but have had horrible luck that just makes me weep. I have three pictures of this pitcher in my image hosting. I haven't yet written the auction for them. I can tell you exactly what they're called in image hosting:
wedgwoodfront1.jpg
wedgwoodfront2.jpg
wedgwoodlabel.jpg
If you or anyone could exactly spell out letter by letter how I can post this, I would be eternally grateful. Adele

I am not very good at the it, but here goes...
[*img]http://www.yourhost.com/picturename.jpg[*/img]
Take out the *'s and no spaces anywhere, add your URL to find the picture.
Or if you post the URL someone will do the UBB to get the picture.
UBB is a pain....

Hi Adele..
I knew what you meant (pitcher vs. picture)
As far as your pics, I need the URL, not just the name they are saved under. Did you upload them to your server?
To post a picture your link would have to look like this:
[$img]http://www.roadrunner.com/wedgwoodfront1.JPG[/$img]
in place of www.roadrunner.com you would enter the location where your pics are stored, and to post the pic you would have to remove the $ dollar signs.

Okay! I've emailed the three pictures of the pitcher to ExecutiveGirl. I can't believe I figured out how to do that--no one at home to help me right now and I get soooo tense over technical stuff with the computer.
See, what I don't know is what the dang "URL" is--is it Auctionwatch.com when I have it in AW image hosting? See how ignorant I am?!

Oops! Thanks, ExecutiveGirl! Can you give me just a hint on what I'm doing wrong here. I would loooove to learn. (See my earlier message.)

Adele:
My guess would be this is real Wedgwood (and a BEAUTIFUL piece, too!).
BTW - your "url" is the website where your picture is hosted at. If you use AuctionWatch, www.auctionwatch.com would be part of your url. Probably something like http://www.auctionwatch.com/roadsmith/wedgwood1.jpg (I'm not positive what the URL is for pics on AW).
Edited to add:
If you go into your AuctionWatch pics, and right click on your picture, it should give you the URL link. You would then put [$img] before the URL and [/$img] after the URL, removing the $ dollar signs. Hope that helps!!

I'm glad you think it's real Wedgwood! It's about 8" high. And, funny, I hadn't seen the "made in" part of the label on the bottom.
Okay! I'm going to try the latest coding attempt:

The "Made in England" denotes this as a contemporary (i.e. 20th century) Wedgwood jasperware piece. Don't have high expectations here; Wedgwood collectors want the stuff that is several hundred years old.
This is not an Antiques Roadshow moment. Sorry.

Maybe not an "Antiques Road Show moment", but I would say it would probably bring between $50-$75, possibly more if you list it during the Christmas holiday.
Good luck!
