I have a couple of auctions ended that I haven't sent an EOA, nor have I listed auctions.

I feel kinda strange doing business while this tragedy unfolds.

Anyone else doing the same thing ?

After taking the summer off, I started listing again last week... Most of those auctions end tonight and tomorrow. I'm not very hopeful about last-minute bids.

My plans to list more items this week are now on hold. I'll simply watch and see how the US economy goes before I list again.

At this point we do not know if the terrorist attacks are over.

I live in the burbs in central OH, and the Mayor of our Capital is asking for calm in the city. Apparently people in the high rises and school kids (and parents) were panicking.

It just doesn't seem right to be going about business as usual. I even felt strange pumping gas this morning and cleaning my windshield, such everyday stuff.

I had gotten everything listed yesterday, with a 10 day auction. We had planned to leave today for a 6 day trip. Not a have to trip, but one of flea marketing and tourism. We canceled the trip. With the news this morning, we just didn't feel like going after all that. The house has been getting one heck of a cleaning though. Lots of frustration energy at this to burn off. Working on listing? Nope, I don't have the heart for it today. Too much sadness. Especially since a dear friend is just a very short distance from the Trade center, and no word from them.

The mails will be slowed anyway. It will take awhile to get enough mail trucks contracted to replace air transport.

At this point I don't know how we can allow a plane in the air or for how long everything must be grounded.

Not to be cynical, but many people be will be burned out on the news in a day or two and will be looking for deversion. I've sold things today with BIN and my auctions are still getting hits. I won't list this evening, but I'll list again on Wednesday.

I think that is one of the primary intentions of this attack .. to create panic and chaos. Facilities being evacuated, kids being sent home from school, banks limiting withdrawals, dollar collapsing against the euro ... it would seem the folks in New York are handling it better than the rest of the country.

Fortunately I had ended listings since I will be on a business trip next week. I don't know how long it will take for people to get back into the swing of things. I just feel empty and numb. I am supposed to take my son to swim lessons today and teeball practice. Now those things just seem so insignificant and irrelevant, I just want to sit in a chair and hold him tight!

I'll be taking a step back from posting.
I do have several auctions ending tonight and will delete any mention of 10 day time limit for payment to be sent and let the buyers know their packages might be delayed due to the airlines being shut down.

Was going to list this morning, did all my images last night but have been glued to the TV all day, went to the grocery store, it was like when they are calling for a blizzard (Philly area).... did all workers call in sick or were shoppers thinking... is the end of the world coming !!
All schools pretty much have closed early, even QVC & HSN is off the air.

So to make my self feel somewhat better... put the Good Ole American Flag outside.... God Bless America Listening to NJ 101.5 talk radio and feeling sooo sad

Maybe tomorrow.. tomorrow.. if we are all still here

This is a tough call. On the the one hand the object of this is to shut down our country and we should not let that happen. On the other hand I can't imagine being able to think about anything but the people who have been killed, and finding the cowardly SOB's who did this to us.

We need a day for the shock to wear off and figure it out.

I'm not going to list tonight, I just don't have the heart. Tomorrow, probably, but I've spent the entire day today trying to just take this in. I live about an hour and a half from Somerset County, where the plane in PA crashed. I went to my children's school at 11 a.m. and brought them home. The teachers looked at me like I was insane. I wanted them here with me. I wanted them to watch this on TV. I wanted to know I knew where they were. They'll go back tomorrow.

This is one of the most devastating days I can remember in all of my 30 some years.

I have shut down for at least the rest of the week, I also unlisted a launch from tomorrow - the entire world is going to be freaked for a long time - when I resume I will hang our flag on every auction!

AuthorizedArt - how do you do that, re: the flag? I'd like to put a flag symbol in my auctions when I begin listing again

I was planning to list today but am holding off in respect for the innocent victims of this tragedy.

Shipping will be a nightmare since nothing is going out on a plane.

Most of my auctions have bids, so I 'm not going to close early.

We, in Canada, have pulled all of our auctions on eBay out of respect for the sorrow of the American Nation. The events of the day have been horrific and our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of you.

AurthorizedArt, thank you for the flags. I'm going to add a flag to each my auctions.

I too am numb and am not thinking straight today, but I do think terrorists underestimate American spirit. This was intended to not only do tremendous physical damage, but damage our national psyche as well. For me, the best way to respond is to try to carry on bravely by doing business as usual. Tomorrow.

I was so appalled that anyone would profit from this that I went and checked, and all the WTC auctions I clicked on were apparently cancelled.

Have been in a state of shock from this morning's first tragedy. And then to witness live on TV the second airplane crash. It made me physically nauseated. It has been one horror after another as this horrendous tragedy kept happening. I just came back on the puter a bit ago to try and get some sort of normalcy. It isn't working.

Scanned pics early this am, about 5 am for listing this afternoon. Still, Can't do it.

My heart is hurting. And I am frightened for our Americans and our country.

edited to add clarity--I am not all here today.

now that i've had some time to collect my thoughts, i've decided i AM going to list something - even if it's just a token listing. i'll put the flag in it - or them, if i can manage more than one. thanks, authorizedart. don't even particularly care if whatever it is sells or not. it's my small way of saying to whomever did this, 'we WILL go on. you WILL *NOT* stop everything in this country.'

I'm almost ashamed to admit that I was so busy this morning I didn't even find out about this until a relative called me around 11:00 AM Eastern Time!

First I spent about a half hour (right around the time the tragedy was taking place I think) reading "good morning stories" to my 4 year old son.

Then we went on our respective computers: he played games and I wrote up auctions and then launched a whole new batch after an hour and a half or so of work.

I was going about my business, woefully ignorant that our country was under attack...

I've got bids some of my newly-launched auctions, so some business does go on as usual I guess. But I spent most of the afternoon watching TV and when I couldn't take it anymore I started reading these boards, which is today, more of the same but at least it's not quite so visual.

It feels almost ridiculous to be doing something normal and really so trivial.

westsoundgifts,

I have deleted your post since it is against the Community Guidelines to post auction numbers and/or auction I.D.'s.

Your comment about those sellers is best not repeated on these boards. We understand tensions and emotions run high, and we ask that you respect each other when posting...... today more than ever.
