60's lamp; you might want to call it shabby chic (god forbidd)alot of these faux crystal...antique looking brass things are being utilized for the decor...look under descrips for chandeliers...they lend themselves somewhat to this type of look...

I actually think this could be quite pretty with the correct shade. The glass globe has another small Christmas tree-type bulb that fits in there and lights up. I can see putting in green or red for Christmas, red for Valentine's Day, one blue and one red (I have two lamps) for July 4th, orange and black for Halloween. The possibilities are endless!
I bought these lamps at an auction for the shades which DEFINITELY did not go with them. See photo below. Be prepared to laugh your butt off when you picture the nice lamp above with the shades below.
My husband was appalled at how much I paid for them yesterday and insists that I should try for a fast turnaround on my investment. I guess I will try to get them listed this evening.

Did anyone ever come up with any alternative word for "shabby chic" since that woman apparently became a VeRO member or did she give up trying to get people to stop using that term?

How about nifty fiftys or natty tatty?
There's always swingin' sixties and with apologies to Austin Powers, the groovy seventies!!!.
This might be trivial, but at least it might lift our minds away from doom and gloom.

Just a follow-up for those who might care: The lamps sold for more than twice what the shades sold for and I made a tidy profit to boot! I have told my husband to never, ever doubt me again.
