If any of you mail rare coins, what is the best and safest method. I'm thinking registered, but gets a bit expensive. Thanks for any advice you have. Dave.

How "rare" are they?

If you're using the ebay definition of "rare", meaning that there are billions of them, then use regular mail.

If you're mailing coins worth ten dollars, a hundred dollars, or in between, regular or insured mail is usually good enough.

If you're sending coins worth thousands of dollars, then you may want to consider registered mail, as others have suggested.

Thanks very much for your replies. They are pretty pricey by my modest standards - $250-350. I have decided on registered. Thanks again. Dave.
