(Moderator, discussion of this eBay user has been allowed before, in light of their publicly traded status on the American Stock Exchange under the symbol 'TTA'.)

Potential users of the '[email protected]' program (that's their bidder ID on eBay) should be aware of the following news announcement.
(TTA is the company that charges a significant up-front free to their membership to participate in online auctions organized by TTA):

Take to Auction Changes Name to Nimbus Group

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 2001--Take to Auction (AMEX:TTA), a leading provider of e-commerce solutions and one of the largest sellers at online auction, today announced that its board of directors approved to change the name of the corporation from Take to Auction.com, Inc. to Nimbus Group, Inc. ("Nimbus", effective immediately. The name change is the first step in a transitional plan to leverage its highly sophisticated proprietary logistics technology.

"The decision to change our corporate name to Nimbus is part of the strategic plan to focus our resources on the recent innovations and advancements currently being introduced in the aviation industry," said Ilia Lekach, Chairman of Nimbus. "I believe that the recent development of smaller, faster and safer twin engine turbine jets, has opened an unprecedented window of opportunity for our company," continued Mr. Lekach.

"We are developing certain technologies that allow dynamic allocation and geographic assignment of aircraft for the air taxi business," confirmed Jonathan Geller, Chief Technology Officer of Nimbus. "

... it appears the company is moving FROM online auctions to an Airplane Taxi service. I do not know what this means for current users of the TTA service who have money on account with them now. They currently have their normal 5000+ slate of auctions running on eBay (although less than 60 have received bids). Stock was UP today, BTW.

caveat emptor,

Marie

This is the only company/seller that I have ever turned in for the links violations, I've turned them in a total of 5 times now and I will probably again tonight for a total of 6. I'm sure many of you have done the same. It's not that I don't have anything better to do I'm just getting my ducks in order so to speak. I actually have a lot to do, I have a new web site that I have been working on and it has just over 1800 item that I have in stock. This next month I plan to launch my auctions with links from my auctions, on average we run 300 unique auction at any given time. I'll also advertise the web site in every email that I send to MY buyers letting them know about the web site, also a violation of ebays rules.(actually I never stopped on the email)

I know I can't post their names directly here but lets just say if you sign up with this company as a MEMBER you can @TAKETOAUCTION.COM their stuff on ebay. Also the HOUSE has gotten into the act @TAKETOAUCTION.COM and is selling on ebay now. There are probably others that I just don't know about.

they advertise in every auction that they are "powersellers" yet they are always just over the line on negative feedback and still they are aloud to use the "powerseller" logo. These nut balls and people like them are the reason I don't use the logo because it doesn't mean squat, which is a nice way of saying another word that starts with a S and ends with a T, that is if you let people with poor reputations use the logo that is suppose to instill trust.

I have all the emails from ebay saying that they have been warned and in one email it says that they have been given 10 days to make changes, hmmmmmm for you and me we get 24 hours if your lucky 48 or the auctions get closed.

eBay has set a clear precedence that they don't enforce the rules equally, or that they don't care to enforce this one, they themselves have said that the same rules apply to all sellers, that there are no "special deals" when clearly there are, I don't know how else to explain it. In doing so they have opened the doors to all that want in this case to have links in their auctions, unless they start making these other companies do the same.

So here's the deal, who wants to stand together on this one? or pick another issue, if there are sellers that want to stand together lets set a date and launch our auctions together. I'm sure that some of you have turned in the same seller or know of others that get away with doing stuff that would get us thrown out. If we work together we can spin support out of lots of other auction support sites, I've been interviewed 2 times about my auction business and you bet if they want shut me down I'll start making phone calls. Also there has to be someone that would love to go after ebay in court on something like this, you could actually get it to stick because you have the proof through the emails dates on the sellers ads. etc.

Boycotts will never work, I'll list in any and every boycott because I need the money but with something like this you list 5 times what you usually do, have a network of other sellers all pointing back to the fact that this other seller has been aloud to thumb their nose at the rules so we should be able to too.

Any takers?

I have used TakeToAuction.com however a few months ago I got hooked up with www.AuctionWholesaler.com Since then I dropped using TakeToAuction.com as AuctionWhoelsaler was offering much better prices and I was make more money. Also AuctionWholesaler.com was much quicker at shipping.

Just my 2 cents.

Why would anyone want to use a place like www.AuctionWholesaler.com. They are NOT a direct wholesaler at all.

For instance they are offering a leather jacket that is being sold all over eBay. Their so called whoilesale price is $34.95. They state the suggested retail is $199.00.

Check out these jackets on eBay. They are selling anywhere from $19.95 - 24.95 sometimes a little more plus shipping of $12.00 to as high as $16.00.

The price of these coats from the "REAL" wholesaler / importer is way less than $34.95 and you can order as little as one coat from them.

On top of higher than wholesale prices they want a $25.00 sign up fee. Gee wiz. Their other so called wholesale prices is just that, so called.

Health & happiness

why would anyone in their right mind want to advertise their sources on AW's boards? the more people you have using that source the less your stuff will sell for. However if your the person selling the stuff you have everything to gain, looks to me like someone is advertising their dot com....................

wranglers,

That was my thoughts exactly. That is why I wanted to let anyone thinking about doing business with the .com mentioned that they are NOT the real wholesaler/ importer of the products offered on their web site.

I could be wrong for thinking what I was thinking but I thinks not

AuctionWholesaler.com's wholesaler price on leather jackets is NOT 34.97 as you stated. 34.97 is what they sell it to their 'non dealers' for.

The reason that I offed my source is that I thought I was helping. I see that most people on AW are simply cut-throat people who don't really don't like helping others but rather like the sounds of their own voices.

I don't know if AuctionWholesaler.com is a direct wholesaler or not, but I've tried them, TakeToAuction, Dropshipper.net and so far AuctionWholesaler.com has had the Best prices, been the most helpful and by far the quickest shipper.

Geez, why not skip the middleman and go direct to the source for the majority of what this AuctionWholesaler.Com place sells? The catalog they offer is just the SMC catalog. So most of the stuff they are marking up, and then passing on the orders to SMC to dropship. Don't know what source they are using for the leather jackets and stovetop grills though, that isn't stuff SMC sells....

Sorry but I'm also a member of SMC, the catalog I received from AuctionWholesaler.com is not the SMC catalog.

I don't think AuctionWholesaler.com just sends the orders to other dropshippers because I had some items shipped directly to my home. The return address was from Daytona Beach, FL (where AuctionWholesaler is out of) and it was confirmed via the UPS tracking number....

Well, my mistake then. I was looking at the home company site Licensed4fun.com and they advertise the SMC catalog and offer a subdealership, so I assumed that was what their other site is selling. One has to wonder why they would bother with SMC if they have a whole warehouse full of other products to sell...?

Did the catalog you received have a picture of Justin Wilson (author of 6 best selling cookbooks)who recently passed away on it or says VISTA?

Do they sell products like; Leather coats / jackets, vests, bags, Bakeware, Guitars, Wall clocks, Knives, Tools, Ccameras, Kitchen gadgets, accessories, cookware, binoculars, etc. ?

If so then www.AuctionWholesaler.com is just distributing catalogs from other known wholesale companies like SMC, & VISTA then marking up the products to sell at so called wholesale and on top of that charging a membership fee.
