The WTC & Pentagon disaster, bickering over Auction for America, dumb buyers, inept sellers, Falwell with hoof-in-mouth disease, and all the other things we find to b*tch-N-whine about on these boards, I would like to set a different tone and publically recognize one seller out there in New York who has gone the literal extra mile in both customer service AND helping with the tragedy of September 11th. Moderators, please allow me to "get personal" and probably violate a rule to tell this story!
A few weeks back I won 3 auctions from the same seller near NYC. When the items arrived, one was missing a piece and we exchanged very friendly emails over what could be done. She assured me on Septemeber 10th that she would ship the missing piece from another similar item she still had in stock. Of course, the next morning, everything changed with the attacks.
Yesterday morning, I received an email from this wonderful lady letting me know that the piece had been shipped on the 13th, and to please let her know when it arrives. She also went on to APOLOGIZE for taking a few extra days to ship, since she had gone down to "the city" for two entire days and helped where she could....including serving coffee, sandwiches and even digging thru the rubble
in her own attempt to find survivors! Her email made me cry as I read a very personal, firsthand report of the devastation and how it affected even the rescue workers and volunteers. Her words say it best:
"...so little I can do, so much that needs done."
This wonderful woman found the time to not only BE the type of eBay seller we all would like to be or deal with; but also did WHATEVER she could to be of assistance at ground zero!
To that VERY SPECIAL lady in New York:
Thank you for taking care of me on your auction (the replacement part arrived yesterday afternoon!) but more importantly.......
THANK YOU FOR TAKING ACTION & BEING A HELPING HAND TO THOSE LIVES YOU TOUCHED LAST WEEK IN NYC!
Edited at request of moderators....I wanted to tell you WHO she was, but there is that "nasty" privacy issue! )

I understand your perspective and appreciate your intent. Unfortunately, I will need to ask that you edit the individual's name out of your post immediately.
Regardless of the innocuous and benign intent behind your post, due to our Community Guidelines, and more specifically, privacy issues, an exception such as this cannot be made.

Absolutely wonderful. She is to be commended! Also, while you cannot post her name here, you certainly can email her a link to this thread ... she deserves to know that others appreciate her efforts, too.
Thank you, eBay seller ... whoever you might be. You portray the American spirit wonderfully
