Thank you for all the suggestions on how to pack a monitor. Based on your suggestions, I will probably do it myself. I really would like to know where to buy packing materials for cheap. I have seen packing peanuts at upper hand places like mailboxes etc. I know there is probably places to buy it for cheap. Can anyone recommend. thanks.

Mailbox places & the office stores (Office Depot/Max/Staples) are high.
Try checking with any auto parts shops, many parts come in peanuts. Also card & gift shops.
If you live in a large enough city, you may have box manufacturers there (check yellow pages under boxes, packing materials, etc. They are among the cheapest places to purchase peanuts & packing materials.
If you have a Tuesday Morning in your area, they usually have large amounts of bubblewrap which goes right into the dumpster, along w/a good number of boxes.
Hopes this helps & gives you a few ideas.

Check with your local independent religious book store. They are usually more than happy to unload the stuff.
Soothsayer, I hope you are washing your hands when you are done dumpster diving

uline.com
if you ship alot buy a "lot" at a time like a palet of stuff for about $500.00 that might last 6 to 12 months - I get a Semi back down my block once 4 months with a palet of boxes and penuts (+ tape - etc).
Mailbox etc took me big time...... if you are a one time deal use newspaper, I also use that as well, great packing.
Uline has saved me a lot of $$$$ and concerns. I get a box I paid $15 at MBE for $5 at UL although I buy bulk - it is a great savings.
as far as unorthodox places to buy packingmaterials........
uline.com i guess
GO!

The dollar stores have alot of bubble wrap, penuts, and tissue paper in their dumpsters, usually bagged up ready for pick up. They also have a nice selection of small boxes in a seperate dumpster.
Free, Whats cheaper than shopping the dollar store? Dumpster diving the dollar store!

Hi,
Also check your recycling centers. Mine takes a lot besides just newspapers and glass. They get tons of packing peanuts and the really good (big bubbles) bubblewrap. I go a few times a month for free supplies. Good luck!

Uhaul has good rates on buble wrap,
They also have boxes and boxes of paper
For wrapping,
Your local grocery store has boxes they will gladly give away since then they dont have to
Take them apart and pay for recycling,
You just have to come before they are done unloading since they do it right after.
