I don't have a lot of extra $$ to donate to the Red Cross or similar organization (I have been on hiatus from my ebay-ing for the past few months! LOL), but I do have several items that I could sell and donate the $ to them.
I planned to do it through the ebay auction charity, but when I read the details, they said that the seller is responsible for the shipping...
Does that mean I have to pay the shipping? Or, does that mean I'm responsible for getting the shipping costs from the high bidder?
I planned to have the high bidder pay the auction amount to ebay's account, then pay the shipping costs to my billpoint account... but is this against the rules? And, if it is against the rules... can someone explain "why" to me?
I have several nice things I was planning to auction... but some of the items are heavy, and I don't really feel like spending the money to pay the shipping on these items, you know?
I know I can't have an auction under my username and say it's for charity... so I guess if I don't list it as an ebay charity auction, I'll just sell it on my own, and just donate the $ on my own. I just figured it could probably earn more $$ if folks knew it was going to the Red Cross...

ACK! I should have known and read further down the board first... I now see that I am, indeed, supposed to pay the shipping costs for these A4A auctions.
Reminds me of why I am taking the hiatus in the first place... I needed an ebay break. All the new rules, and now this. They can't even let me GIVE when I'd like to.
Like many of you, I gave Cash in the first week of the event. Now, I've got bills to pay, things to do.... I don't have the extra $ to pay shipping for these things (some items I had in mind ship for $15+ each...)
Bother. Guess I'll list them independantly and let the ebay fees cut at the ending price. What a bummer! Why'd they add that in the rules? It makes no sense at all!
I was almost feeling rested enough to start auctioning again, but from reading more posts... seems that it might not be worth the effort till the A4A auctions die down? Ugh.
