I just noticed that they had a place on the paypal site to apply for a paypal credit card.
They have several different accounts you can get. My question: (not intended to be mean spirited) Assuming that a person already had
a credit card(s), why would they want a
PAYPAL credit card? Does one get any perks with this card i.e. immunity to chargebacks,
access to corportate jet etc.....
Seriously, can someone give me one reason why to get a paypal credit card?

I have the DEBIT card also. The thing that I am referring to in my original post appears to be an actual VISA charge card.

I think credit card companies are relying on these "co-branded" cards for growth. That is, folks who don't have a credit card will say "Cool! Now I can get a credit card with XXX on it" (where XXX is paypal, ebay, former college, pic of my children, mountains of alaska, etc...) and then they sign up.
I don't know of any compelling reason to get any of these cards other than to have a cool looking credit card. Who really ever looks at your credit cards anway? A bunch of nameless clerks that you'll never see again.
In some cases I think the co-brand gets a tiny percentage of a rebate. For instance, I think the Texas A&M Mastercard gives a 0.5% rebate of all your charges back to the school. You would be better off using something like a miles card and writing a check to the school!
