Hi all, I'm 99% sure I'm going to use Endicia, but I do have a few questions that weren't answered on the webpage. What kind of labels are needed? Right now I have a Word template onto which I type names and addys, then print the page on paper. Cheap, and I'd tape over any label anyway.

Is a special scale needed? Any other tips you can provide an Endicia newbie?

Many thanks!!

So you know, it is against the post office regulations to tape on postage. Endicia prints the address and postage on one label.

Personal for priority mail I use the old priority mail labels #228 dated 1/99. However, they are not easy to get. The new ones dated 8/2000 are way too small.

For first class and media mail I use a label = to Avery 5164. These will work for priority with DC too.

There is a thread here in the past that an AW user gave the prefect set up for these labels. I will look for the thread, if I can fine it I will post it over here for you.

Any scale works. I got mine at Sam's club for like $19.99 weighs up to 4 lbs per the manufacture. They sell the same one on ebay and claim it does up to 10 lbs.

Stick with it! the hardest thing for me was getting the labels lined up write in my printer. Harry and the gang are a great help! The best customer service I have seen in years!

Endicia is a great program, though it may be a little tricky to get started. Search for endicia in the message center, there is lots of advice available.

My main advice would be: don't hesitate to utilize their support if you get stuck. Many companies will never answer email or only answer with canned FAQs - endicia support is very prompt and knowledgeable and will work with you until the problem is solved.

I have been using Endicia now for about a month and love it. As some said the biggest problem is setting up your label and printer - just make your you do a lot of test prints in the beginning. Actually I am using Half Sheet labels for all - Priority, Media, First Class - Using the half sheet - I can use one lable format and the the software seems to do the rest. There was an early post that had info for 2 label per page labels. Basically I take on of these and cut it in half. Works great on my Brother Laser/Fax printer.

HI I use 3-ups and 4-ups labels from gflabels.com. both work but the 4ups are a sqeeze. I have a 5 pound scale as well as a 400 pound scale for the bigger shipments. You really need a scale that has small increments such as ounces.

Thanks, everyone. I'll definitely give Endicia a try, although I'll make sure it's before I (hopefully) get busy for Christmas! Looks like I'll have to change my labels, but that's better than having to wait in line at the PO.

Thank you again.
